Bad Casting Choices in the Movies and Television

the good Nic Cage movies (or roles)
Raising Arizona - already mentioned
Valley Girl
Vampire's Kiss
Birdy
Adaptation
Leaving Las Vegas
Red Rock West
Wild at Heart
Rumble Fish
(most of) Moonstruck

something happens to some actors - the hit a 'try' wall or something - Steve Martin was the funniest person on screen for an incredible run of movies, then he hit a wall and went into some slump and hasn't made a good movie in maybe 15-20 years

I still think Con Air should be included. Yes it is a cheesy movie, but for what the movie is, he played that role perfectly.

Not true for Raising Arizona, Vampire’s Kiss, Adaptation, and maybe Birdy
And I don’t consider ‘plays the same character ‘ as a criticism
You’d have to apply it to Deniro and tons of other great actors
his best movie is ghost rider.

I loved the Castor Troy version of Nicholas Cage in Face Off. Heck, I enjoyed him in Gone in 60 Seconds and The Rock. :9:

Yes. Anthony Hopkins. Almost every movie he is in, he basically a version of Hannibal Lector

Well almost - he was a bit chamelon-like as Odin. Also as Nixon I guess.

Speaking of Hopkins, he was totally the wrong person to play Hitler in The Bunker (1981). Bruno Ganz absolutely put him to shame in Der Untergang

Also check out Nicholas Cage's character in Sonny (2002). Maybe not a good movie, but definitely not his standard character.

I can't remember his name but the actor who played the younger "Man In Black" played by Ed Harris as older on Westworld.
