Not only are the bands named after cities better than the ones named after states, but the bands named after streets are better than the ones named after states as well.

yes apparently there is one in New Hampshire. I had to look because during WW2 many places named after anything German were renamed. The streets that run parallel to Napoleon Blvd uptown were all originally named after Napoleons famous victories. Milan, Mirango, etc. General Pershing St was originally name Berlin Street but changed during or right after the war. If you are real quiet late at night you can still hear the voices carrying on the street.

Remember when Sufjan Stevens was gonna do an album for each state - then he just did the two states he knows?

Illinois was pretty good.

I need a ruling on Kansas

State. The cities are called Kansas CITY. There is Kansas City, Ks, and Kansas City, Mo, but no city named Kansas. Therfore they are named for a state.
