NS Chow fired (1 Viewer)

I don't think he's going to be an elite QB but we should give him some time before totally labeling him a bust. Think about how many teams fans are labeling Reggie a bust right now.

Theres a difference between Reggies average 3.8 a carry as a RB (that doesn't meet the hype but isn't terrible), and VY's horrid numbers.

But I've never needed to see VY's numbers to think he will never be even an average QB. I felt that way when he came out of college.

As far as VY goes, I was just PO'd to see him named to the ProBowl last year as well as being on the cover of Madden. That was so over-hyped it made me ill.

I think the guy has talent and potential, remains to be seen if he will stick or not in the league.

Oh I agree I think he's totally over hyped and probably won't amount to much of anything, I just don't want to label the guy a bust so quickly. People love to throw around the word "bust" see Meachem, Robert.

you dont win 10 games as a member of the AFC South and have a BAD quarteback. sure VY's not a numbers guy but the team wins and he gets his team in a position for success all the time. Im sure it comes down to the two just not working well together and not meeting each other's expectations...i have no idea how it lasted as long as 2 years in the first place.

It is official it is on Titansonline.com that Chow is out as OC for the Titans.

He may go back to college, perhaps Hawaii?

a acquaintance of mine (year behind me in high school) is married to his daughter and living in Hawaii.

Chow getting the axe is more about the pressure on Fisher. Billick fired Fassel last year (2006) and ended up losing his job this year. I predict the same for Fisher.

Last year, this was the case - not this year. When the Titans won it was because their defense killed the other team and their running game came up big. Vince has not been as effective this year as he was last. He has had 2 or 3 "good games" but not a single one where he "won" the game for the team. Often they won because of what he did not do (turn over the ball) instead of what he did do. If not turning over the ball constitutes a good QB, put me in coach - I can take a knee 3 times in a row and avoid turnovers altogether.

Not sure if this is because of better game-planning by the opponents, a switch in offensive philosophy for the Titans (there's been a push to turn VY into a pocket passer - see Brooks, Aaron 2002) or whether he has been injured all year as Vince has suggested (no coach backed him up on this claim though...).

He needs a better set of weapons (his most reliable receiver was Tulane's Roydell WIlliams) and an offense that allows him to use his physical talents.

Hmmm...what other QB have I seen these exact same excuses for...

Fisher's been the coach for 15 years. Adams is committed to the guy and has hired and fired GMs and VP based on their inability to get along with Fisher.

Fisher isn't going anywhere until he decides he is.

And, if Adams forces another keystone player on him, Fisher may decide sooner rather than later.

Well, he knows how to use Reggie Bush in an offense. Maybe we should hire him.

Hiring him isn't going to slow down any of the defensive personnel in the NFL. That's what is making Reggie ineffective. He can't outrun people anymore to spot "X"

When you have the number 1 ranked defense for the majority of the year, yeah you do.

Vince Young=potential "coach killer"

They were 7-6 going into the last 3 games of the year and got into the playoffs playing the juggernaut lineup of KC, NYJ, and the Colts backups. Their wins came against Jax in week 1, which is a crap shoot, the Saints before the offense put it together, Atlanta, Oakland, Houston (2), and Carolina. Take out the Colts game, and the combined record of their opponents whom they defeated is 49-79. Taking out the Indy game Jacksonville is the only +.500 team they defeated all year and that was again, in week 1. Their defense gave up 297 points, good for 5th in the conference, their offense scored 301 points, 10th in the conference over those powerhouse offenses in KC, Oakland, Baltimore, Miami, NY, and Buffalo. Further, every NFC team outscored them except for St Louis, San Fran, Atlanta and Carolina. Tennessee was carried by their defense.
