Allen will not be going anywhere for at least a year, possibly 2. They are going to give Allen every opportunity to fix what is wrong. I just can’t see a scenario - even finishing the season 3-14, where Allen is fired. We are now 1-3 and this team has started every game slowly, commits ridiculous penalties regularly and the offense (for the majority) has not looked like an NFL offense. It is clear that Dennis Allen is not good enough to be head coach of the Saints and Loomis needs to fire him once this season is done. This team is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and yet we are playing like a 6 win team. That is on him and if we want to be good again he needs to go quickly.
To add to the above we, somewhat stupidly, traded our 2023 1st because we expected to be a playoff team. We are miles off that and a coaching reset is needed. Our future depends on these things happening this off-season:
1. Sean Payton needs to be traded for, at the minimum, a 1st round pick.
2. Allen and Carmichael need to be fired.
Dalton was better than Winston has been, we still had Olave and Landry out there and the run game was the best it’s been so far.You do realize we were missing:
1. Our starting QB
2. Our starting RB
3. Our starting WR
4. Our starting LG
I'm as frustrated as anyone, but this isn't all DA.
I wouldn’t say that we are “missing” our starting quarterback. Dalton looked fine. You do realize we were missing:
1. Our starting QB
2. Our starting RB
3. Our starting WR
4. Our starting LG

Probably true. The big buzzword of the offeseason though, was “continuity”. This is anything but that, we’re worse despite having a better roster.Allen will not be going anywhere for at least a year, possibly 2. Carmichael maybe.
There was nothing conservative about throwing a likely top 10 draft pick away when we didn’t know how good our QB was.Because that almost never happens in the NFL and Loomis is more conservative than most.
This team with Sean Payton would be amazing. This team with Dennis and Pete makes for some sad pandas.Probably true. The big buzzword of the offeseason though, was “continuity”. This is anything but that, we’re worse despite having a better roster.
DA is not getting fired. We are going to be upset for a while. We are now 1-3 and this team has started every game slowly, commits ridiculous penalties regularly and the offense (for the majority) has not looked like an NFL offense. It is clear that Dennis Allen is not good enough to be head coach of the Saints and Loomis needs to fire him once this season is done. Also, the main word thrown at us during the off-season was “continuity”. The whole point of hiring Allen was to continue winning. He has taken us backwards despite having a better roster. That’s why he needs to go.
All of the coaching staff should. Make them swim back, or give them a pirogue, a single ore, and tell them good luck getting home.Pete Carmichael should be left across the pond.
