NFL Draft Anthony Richardson could very well be in play if Saints land a late 1st for Payton. (1 Viewer)

Sorry, i just cant get behind a wildly inaccurate QB whose best trait is being an athlete. In my opinion, thee types are the guys who turn into WRs or TEs in the pros. To me, Anthony Richardson is 100% upside/potential. I dont think you draft this type of dude in the 1st.

Richardson is literally a big armed Taysom Hill. Or Tebow. Or a big Malik Willis. If we’re gonna draft a mobile high ceiling project player at QB, id much rather have guys target guys like Cam Ward(if he officially declares), Hendon Hooker, Jaren Hall or DTR.

Cam Ward & Dorian Thompson-Robinson (DTR) in particular are just as mobile, are better passers, & have just as high a ceiling as Richardson, but could probably be had on Day 2-3. The more i watch Richardson, trying to convince myself he’s good, the more issues i see. Im just not a fan at all.

I think the sleeper QB of this draft could be Cam Ward. The dude is a modern day QB. He can run for chunks through a D & above all else, is a true QB w/an NFL arm. Again, not 100% sure he declared, but i think he’s a guy we could get really excited about.

As I mentioned in another thread, I think it's worth drafting Richardson. He has his flaws but he also has tremendous upside and his athletic ability is off the charts. Sometimes you have to take risks, especially at QB. When was the last time we made a risky decision at QB? Don't tell me that Grayson and Book were risky moves as a 3rd and 4th rounder. I mean we moved up for Davenport - two firsts. We drafted Turner in the 1st. I'm not willing to say that both are busts, but neither is worth the price we gave up.
Hurts had "bust" tattoed on his forehead coming out of the draft and now watch him play. As I said: sometimes you have to take risks. At least it wouldn't be a boring season with the offense as the last was.

Ward would be the QB I would most like to see in black & gold. But I would be very surprised if he declares for the draft this year. I think he's staying at Washington State for another year. He really has incredible potential.

I would compare Richardson to Willis from last year except Willis is actually a better thrower. Richardson is extremely athletic but is a terrible QB. Whoever wastes a 1st pick on him is an idiot! He MAY be used like we use Taysom where if he’s in at QB it’s going to be a run 99.9% of the time. He really should just change positions to RB.

Do you trust Carmichael and Curry with Richardson? I am not so sure. Maybe if they brought in Greg Roman they could maximize his ability

The QB I'd draft is an acc guy. The one I'd get on the open market is a Gardner. Something to keep in mind for the Fleur d helmet logo crowd, sorry my mn is rusty.

His brain looks smarter than AR’s 😂

Misconception. AR is highly intelligent, and is an ultra-competitor and a great teammate.
However, you might have noticed the struggles all season for separation for any Gator receiver not named Pearsall. This can make a QB look inaccurate, and possibly like they aren't making the best decisions.

If he had Olave, Thomas, Shaheed, AK, Tayson.......this is a guy that could take us over the top.

His running threat isn't like most, he's a truck with incredible speed and elusiveness.

The guy last year alone had TD RUNS of 50 plus yards vs Utah, LSU, and Texas AM.

That just doesn't happen.

I would be ecstatic if we got him.

Ward went back to Washington State.

AR is a dilemna wrapped in a conundrum around an enigma. He could throw a beautiful 25 yard out or post into a tight window then on a bootleg with no pressure throw a pass into the ground to a wide open TE right in front of him or airmail a swing pass to an uncovered RB. IMHO, if you draft him you better be willing to commit totally to a Jalen Hurts/Lamar Jackson scheme. He’s got a powerful arm but is inaccurate a lot.

I was mostly just joking based off of Saint Lattimore’s language. Although DTR has better stats to me and the route concepts that he worked with were pro level.
