Someone might want to tell the Celtics the series started against the Heat. Actually, never mind, it won’t matter. They are getting swept 100%. I have never seen a team up against it like that just play like it is a game in November. Jogging, half assed closing out shooters. That team might get blown up and Joe Mizzoula(?) is about to be out of a job. Man I did not see that coming. I thought Miami could win, but I never thought Boston would just lay down and die. I swear Tatum has money on the Heat.

…..

My Nuggets are going for the first series sweep in their history tonight. I fully expected them to lose game 3 but the refs can’t guard Jamal Murray. There was a foul called Jokic (his 4th, midway through the 3rd) that was challenged. On the replay it showed him about 6” away at the nearest and falling away. My wife said “there is no way they won’t overturn that right?” I just smiled at her. So innocent. Anyway they didn’t overturn it and Jokic sat for 12 game minutes. Didn’t matter.

Game 4 will be a bit more blatant officiating wise but I think if Denver can withstand their initial haymaker, I think LA will quit.. Either that or they will land their haymaker, get up like 12ish and let the officials bring it home. This is what I believe will happen as the L isn’t letting LA get swept. Game 5 is a coin flip - I expect a SAC vs LA Game 6 of the 2001 WCF type of refereeing.

I grew up just south of Denver and when I graduated from Purdue, I moved back to Denver.

I had season tickets to the Nuggets for 11 years until I moved. I honestly never thought they would be this close. I was thinking about all the awful basketball I sat through.

And then I saw Melo retired today. That is kind of fitting, but I wish he would get a 1 day and retire a Nugget. He saved the franchise, and they wouldn’t have built to the championship contender they are not without those foundation building years. They were so bad for so long.

I’m still not convinced this is real and I am going to wake up and they will be down 3-2 to Phoenix. I don’t know how to take winning. The Saints are by far and away the most winning team - college and pro- that I root for in all of sports.

So I am just walking around in a fog, watching Jamal Murray do things to LA that are illegal in some states.

If they somehow close out and move on, the Finals doesn’t start until the first of June. That’s 10 days! For it to start! And then it is like two to three more weeks. I can’t take this.

Same. Denver is my favorite northern city.

It's become mine...my sister lives there (last 18 years ) and now my 40 yr BF ...he and wife and his daughter all up in Denver since 21. We go up 3-5 times a year. (This summer finally going fly fishing out of Steamboat...funny coincidence is the guide spends 4 months guiding down here for reds/specks lol )

Aside from that, I'm awed by Jokic play. I grew up w Lambeer, Kareem...then Olajuan, Ewing, to Alonzo, Shaq etc etc.

Never seen a big with his ability and its really a joy to watch. I hope more bigs find the same game because having a league filled with centers that can do what Jokic does would be great.

So I'm totally pulling for the Nuggets.

Is this real life?

I think it was Balzac who said-

fork the Lakers !!!

Man, I had a feeling I never had before at halftime. Confidence. I knew they were gonna win even down 15. LeBron played his little heart out, but in the end he ran out of gas. June 1st is so far away…

But here is the good news -

If you started rooting for Denver on any level before Game 1 of the Finals you are still considered a long time hardcore Nuggets fan! We have no fans!

Come on in, the water is fine
