Rod Coleman officially a free agent... (1 Viewer)

Why haven't we signed him yet Lommis?!?!

:cliffjumperguy:

Seriously though, I'd take a hard look at both Crumpler and Coleman.. And you know they would love giving it back to the Dirty Birds twice a year..

crumpler is a cancer...

Based on what? ...Because he called out the organization last year when Petrino was showing himself to be a total waste of a HC and the team was in turmoil? That sounds more like a frustrated player, sick of seeing his team get beat and the organization act incompetently.

I don't know.. He was upset about the direction of the organization on a sinking ship.. If you look at where they came from a few years ago (playing in the NFC Championship game) to where they are now, I can see why a player would get disgruntled.. Especially when the hot new head coach didn't take time to communicate with the players..

A healthy Alge Crumpler would be a HUGE addition to our offense. He would help the running game tremendously, as well as give us a threst in the middle of the field. He and Billy Miller would be an excellent tandem.

I'd take Crumpler in a heartbeat... Coleman would be good in a rotation behind Brian Young, if they bring him back.

That DOESN'T fix the DT position, but it would be an upgrade if he could be had cheaply.

Exactly..

When healthy, Coleman is a very good pass-rusher at DT. He was dominant at times a few years ago...

I think some very good players are going to be had from this Falcons purging... That team just imploded after the Vick and Petrino fiascos... some of these guys will go on to help other teams substantially IMO.

Ditto on both guys. Coleman would fit in a 3 man rotation just nicely. Prolonged career at a relatively cheap price. Crumpler, on the other hand, would be a great pickup for a relatively expensive price. They'll even out financially because of the low salary for Coleman.
