Ronald Curry won’t return to Saints staff (Buffalo Bills hiring Ronald Curry as QB coach) (1 Viewer)

I think Ronald Curry is a very brilliant football player and football mind. I understand why Klint Kubiak wants to bring in his own staff, though. This does signal Allen ceding the offense to him. As for Curry, he’ll be in the Curtis Johnson class of coaches I’d like to see succeed wherever they go, so long as it’s not to the Falcons.
Allen needs someone he can turn the offense over too.

I truly believe the defense took a dip early in the season because of the issues the offense began to have, and him needing to spend more time w/ that side of the ball.

He also needs someone who can squeeze all the juice out of the pieces in place.

Theres a lot of resources that have been put into the offense the last few drafts.

Meanwhile the defense has gotten old and slow, another reason for its slight decrease in effectivenes.

The D needs to be rebuilt, can’t do that if you keep needing to help the O

This was inevitable. DA is handing the offense over to KK just as SP handed the defense over to Gregg Williams.

Needed to find "his"guy. Unfortunately Pete was not the right marriage for him, it happens. I commend him for never throwing Carmichael under the bus during the season and allowing him to continue calling plays with dignity despite likely knowing a change would be made in the off-season.

I do not know how good of a coach Curry is, and I can understand the new OC wanting to bring in assistants he favors.

Two comments. One, if Curry is a great coach, then shame on the Saints for last year keeping Pete as OC and not promoting Curry.

Two, I do not want to hear in week 9 in 2024 that the reason the offense is struggling is a new system and new coaches.

This right here. No more built in excuses.

I hope this preseason they let the starters build a little more momentum. I understand wanting to avoid injury but we cant come out the gate looking like we did last year.

The only guy i’d say doesn’t need preseason reps on offense is Alvin, but everyone else needs to play more than they did last year.

Well, an offensive overhaul was needed. Dennis is trying really hard to save his job. Maybe this will work if he just hands the offense completely to Kubiak. I supposed we were bound to lose some decent coaches to install the new scheme for the new OC.
DA last year said he doesn’t touch the offense but who knows

DA hasn't had a hand in the offense, since becoming head coach. He helped get Carr here perhaps, but nothing else. DA didn't interview/hire KK......Loomis did. I think it was Loomis who saddled DA w/ Pete. So, it will be Loomis/KK running things on offense.

Loomis was at the senior bowl scouting potential draft picks while DA stayed behind in New Orleans to interview candidates. Loomis had nothing to do with this hire but maybe negotiating a contract.

If you’re going to sound so confident at least be halfway right.
