Ronald Curry won’t return to Saints staff (Buffalo Bills hiring Ronald Curry as QB coach) (4 Viewers)

It's always more comfortable to be the new guy in the building than the holdover guy surrounded by new people. Especially since he interviewed for the OC job and was asked to take a step back to WR coach. At that point it had to be a matter of personal pride. Good luck in Buffalo RC, your job as a QB coach just got dramatically easier.

This is not surprising to me. Curry was passed over for the OC job and I suspect he wanted a new start with a contending team. I wish him well as he gave us a number of good years.

KK must already know who who will be the QB coach and passing game coordinator. I would have liked Curry to stay on as WR coach, but I can see why he might not want the demotion and would choose Buffalo. I wonder if he's getting a title as passing game coordinator and/or another title?

It's a good move for Curry. Allen went to bat for Brady to stay the OC. If Allen has a good year next year Brady will be a hot candidate for a head coach job and he then brings Curry in as his OC. Plus they both were here at one time so some familiarity. Maybe Brady will be our next head coach. Never know.

Maybe he should hire JT O’Sullivan to be the new QB Coach… that guy sure seems to think he knows it all about the position.
🤷‍♂️
I mean, considering he played the position as a professional, he knows more than 99% of people who talk about it. Just saying...

We all know that it will more than likely be his brother. That how most coaching gigs work nowadays..

Yep...exactly. He probably started calling around the second he found out he didn't get the job and I'm glad he found his way to Buffalo. This also probably sets him up in a way that if Brady kills it, he can roll with him as OC or be in a place to get it in Buffalo.

Moving from one position to another position is hardly a demotion. That said, I can see why it would be far more attractive for him to be hired to "coach" an already developed superstar QB and work under an OC he's familiar with than coach our receivers in a brand new scheme.

He was also the passing game coordinator. So it was a demotion to be switched to WR coach.

Sounds like the organization really likes him but there was no way to keep in that position with a new OC who needs to bring in his guys to implement his system.

Moving from WR Coach to QB Coach to Pass Game Coordinator back to WR is a demotion...lol.

Wish him luck! By all accounts he’s been a great coach here. I’m sure he’ll be missed but I’m also happy we’re resetting the offense. It’s time.

Kubiak Bringing in his own Coaches make a lot of sense, should lessen the time of teaching the coaches the scheme, they will know it already.

Let's just hope that this reset don't take an entire offseason and 12 weeks to come together. :(

I think its a good move, and good opportunity for Curry.

I think it's ultimately better for Curry to get out of the building to build his resume more. And Buffalo is a really good steppingstone to an OC position down the road that he likely wouldn't have gotten by staying with the Saints.
