I’m inclined to think the Saints would ideally like to leave this draft w/ Bowers (2 Viewers)

From all of the draft buzz I've heard, if we want him we'd have to outmaneuver the Jets and Colts. I hope we keep our cards close to the vest because the Colts are a major trade-up threat to jump us for him.
I am seeing more and more about the Jets taking him at 10.

No thanks we have 2 viable TEs under contract.

JJ's contract ends after 2024. Moreau and Hill end after 2025. Hill is 34. In 2024, we will spend 27M for this trio. We could draft Bowers, then in 2025 let JJ walk and cut/restr both Hill Moreau while spending half that on TE. Bowers could be what we hoped a combination of these 3 guys would give us.

If Bowers and Fashanu are both sitting there at 14, would you trade down to 15 for a 4rd round pick?
The "unnamed rival team" who are making this claim sounds like they're busy blowing smoke. Chances are they pick before the Colts and just want to entice some trade up calls to snatch Bowers before 15.

It's smoke season. Don't. Believe. Anything. You. Hear.

I'll be honest, the only tight end that Rodgers played with that I can name off the top of my head is Marcades Lewis, and that's only because he played since God was a kid.
Jemichael Finley was one of Rodgers favorite targets when he first came in the league. He had 50+ catches every season (except the season he got injured) . And did you miss 2015? They had TE Richard Rodgers and the commentators thought rodgers to rodgers was hilarious so they said it every time he caught a pass. Seems like it was 60 catches and 8 touchdowns. Jimmy Graham had a couple of pretty good seasons with rodgers in 18/19. Robert Tonyan had 50+ catches and 500+ yards in 2020 and 2022.

Rodgers absolutely will throw to TEs, if they can catch, but has no tolerance for dropped passes.

We need OL, DL, S, WR, TE, future LB, and probably future CB and future S. Other than that we're loaded.
Sure, we can draft a TE in this year's draft, another position in the 2nd round and 2 or 3 more top 100 picks
in next year's draft and mitigate some of that. I guess it doesn't matter which order we get them in. We just
need to start adding supreme talent to this team. Our superstars are starting to fade and we can't replace them
all at once.

And regarding the comments that Olinemen are boring …

Armstead, Evans, Nicks, Ram, Brown, Strief, De Le Puente, Grubbs, Bushrod, Goodwin, Stinchcomb and a couple of others.

These are the kind of players that allowed Drew Brees to maximize his potential.

You win football games in the trenches.
How many of those were 1st rd picks?

The road block to Bowers at 14... Is the Jets at 10... and teams trading to get ahead of us at 12 and 13... I'd already be on the phone with the Bears at 9, and have Sean on speed dial should he get past 10.

He's a guy you can build your offense around for the next decade, and be the man for your next young QB once DC is out of here... not just some TE.
I see a lot of you connecting Bowers to the Jets. However, A-A-Ron Rodgers has never been the kind of QB that utilizes his TEs that much.
