And we were wrong about Payton who has shown that he can change his offense to fit the QB in Denver.

Who's "we"? I always felt he would be successful in Denver or wherever he went.....

But there were a whole lot of folks on this board that propped up DA by criticizing CSP.....totally bizarre, never understood it.....

What a short memory some of you have. Do y’all not remember when he was our OC in the Haslett regime? If so you remember the complete collapse of Aaron Brooks and the year that McCarthy refused to bench Brooks when all we needed was to win 1 game of our final 3 but McCarthy and his arrogance would not put Jake Delhomme in or start any of those games. When we got to the final game of the season it was the last chance and he still would not start or put Delhomme in the game. Before anybody says “well obviously he wasn’t ready” the very next year Delhomme takes Carolina to the Superbowl!! You really want someone who made these kind of decision mistakes to be our HC? No way!

Short memory.....above was like 20+ years ago and McCarthy wasn't making those decisions, he wasn't the HC....Incompetent jerk Haslett was.....

Lots of things have changed since then anyways, incredibly weak take IMO....

Haslett had Boo Williams balloon from a 230lb WR/TE to a 270lb shell of his former self, he had McCarthy go from a spread it out 5 wide offense displaying Aaron Brooks ability to pass and run to a 2 TE offense and play conservative ball...…then McCarthy went to GB and won a super bowl calling the game how he wanted to...…sound familiar? No I remember it. But I think that was some kind of post-divorce indignation. Definitely not saying people didnt believe it, but those same folks by probably a super majority still wanted him as our HC.

The post Payton treatment got a bit off the rails. We were all po'd with him outside of a few rational folks who probably rightly pointed out that 16 years in any NFL job was a lifetime.

He also effectively cut Deuce's career short by having him play 15-20lbs heavier than he should have.....IMO.....Haslett was such a tool....

I wasn't accusing you are anyone else specifically of having that opinion, but some did have it and they were wrong. A lot of it was probably just Ex-girlfriend syndrome where you hope your Ex-girlfriend isn't happy and successful with her new man.

And full confession, I wasn't sure that he was willing to change his offense when he didn't do it for Hill and Winston. And, I will say that he did not really change the system enough here after Brees retired for mere mortal QBs to run it properly. I think the year off with time to look at his system and adjust it to young QBs or just QBs that were not HoF QBs really helped him once he got to Denver. Over the years it was built around what Brees could do and not many can do those things. He has clearly changed some of those things and added somethings to help Nix have success.

But I never really doubted that he would end up being a good HC in Denver.

I didn't think you were, because if you read any of my posts I defended CSP at ever turn.....because, he gave my sons a much better version of the Saints than I had growing up and spent 16 years here, which is an eternity for a NFL HC......

What I saw was a lot of childish BS being spewed before the season and especially after the short, early successes to start the season.....That's fine though, hopefully the next coach is at the level of a CSP....

What made Duece Duece was his ability to run and receive, he was a bigger Marshall Faulk coming out of Ole Miss in my opinion.

Geniunely asking, why do people want Flores after the high profile debacle with Tua...which sort of corroborated the reports that he had a general lack of ability building relationships with....just about anyone from the practice squad to ownership in Miami?

I get he seemed like he mightve regretted some of it, either geniunely or at the direction of his agent I dont know. But this is going to be a pressure cooker here for a year or two trying to resurrect this roster. It seems like taking a chance on a guy like him is far riskier than Glenn.

Yeah, I share those concerns about Flores. He's about 5th ot 6th on my list.

I'll always be in the camp that believes he left because he simply didn't want to coach anymore without an elite QB. Will Nix continue to develop? Time will tell.

He was hard nosed. His Defense is more acclimated to the NFL and running Qb's. I didn't think there was much there except the fact he didn't like Tua as a QB coming out. Tua didnt like his hard nosed style. He eventually leaned into Tua. He became a winning Coach. Miami fired him because of Tua feelings. He wanted to win. He didnt coddle players. I like those coaches. I am 45. I am kind of drawn to Bill Parcells, Bill Cowher, Bilicheck Coaches.
I understand the Offensive young minds are amazing. Kevin O Conell has got to thank Flores for that 14 win season. Mc Vay is the man. McDonald has not done much in Miami. Klint Kubiac second half offense was atrocious, Shane Stichen, who I respect as a Coach has really been disappointing. I see the success and demand of Demeco Ryans.
I am not a fan of Aaron Glenn for the same reason I didnt like Dennis Allen later on. Too much man coverage. Your back is to running QB's. Your blitzing scheme was atrocious. I got sick of pass interference penalties down the field due to Corners on a island. This is the same tendancy of Glenn.
