Yea I get the sentiment forsure, to me the guy just has zero Payton vibes and no presence on sideline. What I worry about if that I think we are more likely to see the output of the Chargers O than we are the Philly O we are seeing this season. It’s easy for us to get excited about this guy because of the Eagles season, but if you put last season and this season on a scale, I’m certain we will see Moore lean closer to what we saw with Chargers.I would’ve gone Kaf>Moore but hey, Moore would have been 3rd after McCarthy.
I like them all but I’m not sure what to expect from Moore as a HC. I went back and looked at some old SP interviews from 2006 and though young he had a demeanor about him.
I’m not seeing that w/ more on the surface at least. Perhaps there’s more than meets the eye to him and I’m willing to give him that chance.
Part of me would be Ok if he pulled out lol but still I like him as an option and I completely understand why Loomis was interested, on the flip side it was the same thing that lead him to Allen.
Hopefully this time it’s a hit
Yeah I forgot he had one year in San Diego and it was average, but it does seem like his offense is RB dependent. In Dallas he had somewhat of a prime (but declining) Ezekiel Elliot and he got great results w/ out elite WR talent. Chargers had an average to below average stable of RB's and he got average results, and then he goes to Eagles, they go out and get an elite RB and he shoots back up to having great results.Yea I get the sentiment forsure, to me the guy just has zero Payton vibes and no presence on sideline. To that end, I was never impressed with the O in Dallas when he ran it, there was a reason they moved on, and it isn’t always Jerry being Wrong. I just don’t see the reason to get completely delusional over this guy because of this Philly season.
Look, I hope im wrong, I really do and want the Saints to succeed, but this to me feel like a “hire a young coach” trend, executed by a front office that clearly doesn’t recognize that makes a good coach (got lucky with Payton), young or old, with demonstrated ability that they are stuck in their ways. To be that spells disaster.
It 100% should have been McCarthy imo. Kafka after. MM would have been alot smoother transition, but hey the chips are in now it sounds like so I guess we will see what Moore can do if accepts job
If he's the choice I'm interested to see how his demeanor fits in.For the weeks of desperate bluster here by so many about how McCarthy was 'the adult in the room candidate,' I have peace of mind knowing that the big fraud is out.
McCarthy pouted his way to the Cowboys dumpster because Dallas was not going to renew him for the years and money he delusionally thought he deserved. He had zero leverage in Dallas because he flat out embarrassed the Cowboys in the playoffs the three seasons they made it and did not elevate the Cowboys one bit relative to how much money they invested in Dak. He's been a dead man walking in Dallas all year after Dak's latest season-killing injury.
So why in the world should the Saints have rescued him? Fortunately they didn't, and know that Mickey has an insider, his son, as an executive in the Cowboys front office. Ya'll and $9.95 Nick (a week ago) had MCCARRYTHY IZ FROMT RUBBER FOR SAINTZ CORCH)
McCarthy never even signed up for an interview. Understandable, when his singular competition is the OC he demoted from playcalling. Great look for you, Mike.
Mike's gonna take a year off. Well sure, just like he did in 2019, when he had to study up, because the league had destroyed his famous offense with 2 deep safety coverage. Nothing much has changed. He's a retread, and a self-serving check-casher. Sean Payton has fire in the belly. McCarthy has **other stuff** in the belly.
As for Moore, not signed and sealed yet, but I agree he's the winner (or loser) of Mickey's laughingstock coaching search. He's an unknown who still puzzles me the way he went from a non-descript backup QB in Dallas to instantly the QB coach and OC of that team. Put the Eagles, Barkley, and their Howie Roseman-built 'stars' on every unit team aside, but I think Moore is more apt to run a balanced offense than McCarthy did. His low profile is the right match for the Saints, who are as low profile in the league as a team can get, thanks to Mickey "when you're in the will there's a way" Loomis.
All I said was I think they would all drop out if the Saints told them they had chosen Moore and I think the Saints would tell them if they had an agreement with Moore.Man all I said was that I think these particular coaches, three names that aren’t really hot on the hiring circuit, would REALLY like the job even if it’s low odds and take their chances, so they’re not likely to withdraw (and as of this moment, unlike everyone else, they haven’t yet).
How on Earth is this a point of contention for someone?
It looks like McCarthy may have gotten word that Kellen Moore is likely to become the Saints HC
