My guy instinct has been that we're going to move up to draft Ward.. we'll see, but definitely have the smoke present..

The smoke/story is that the Saints asked the Titans about the cost of a trade and the Titans want more than the Saints will give, so the Saints moved on.

As far as sources, I find this new story just to be a retelling of the previous story that the Saints were willing to trade with the Titans, but the price was too high.

I find it doubtful that anyone high up in the Saints organization would spill the beans that the Saints "will pull out all the stops" to get Cam. Why would they leak that when they know that Titans would raise their asking price even higher? If a high level source is leaking it, I think it's counterintelligence. I don't think that's happening either.

If there is a source, I suspect it's either someone fairly low in the organization who only has partial third hand information at best or someone not in the organization who's speculating more than any thing.

People are starting to talk themselves into expecting the Saints to get Ward. If that doesn't happen, it's going to be another miserable year on this board, because most people get upset when their expectations aren't met.

According to stories from a couple of weeks ago, it would cost more than the Saints are willing to pay.

This might be as close as we get to drafting a high profile QB prospect. @9 we would give up some draft capital to move up but if you land a top future QB u do it. I can live with not having a 1st rounder for a couple years and some other picks if it means we got a franchise QB. Plenty of talent in rounds 2-7 to get by. We need a star qb

A trade is not an impossibility because I don't think TN knows what to decide yet. They may not know on draft morning.

If there's a trade scenario, it would seem to me that:

Carr's not in a trade because it's an $80 dead cap hit, when he's only on the cap for $20M. They don't have $60M in real cap cash to flush right now.

Rattler would be in the trade.

Tennessee would be stupid to not ask for both the 2026 and 2027 1st rounders. I don't think the new GM they just got from the Chiefs front office is stupid.

If the Browns or Giants are hellbent on acquiring the pick, TN would get less but they would still get a 2026 #1 and more.

Adam West mentioned Milroe. I think he's moving up and will not last past the 2nd round. He's a much better prospect than Anthony Richardson was.

Yep I get that. Titans could just take Ward but Daniel Jeremiah has been saying he believes they'll move the pick to the Giants for months. I've just gathered and heard that the Titans like Cam Ward a lot but don't love him & could be more okay with the idea of drafting Carter instead (who they do truly love & have ranked over Ward as a prospect) and address QB in RD2.

Don't think they do that. That's how they end up with another Will Levis which was barely 2 years ago for them. Then you have Malik Willis 3 years ago in the 3rd. Dont see the Titans playing that game and passing on the opportunity to take the best QB in the draft.

If you have the First overall pick, don't have a good qb on the roster, it is bad business to not use that on the best quartback in the draft.

It’s possible but it’s really hard to get #1 overall. I’d be surprised if a team is tanking for #1 before the season starts.
