15 million for 15 touches (1 Viewer)

The Saints averaged around 4.5 yards per carry against the Vikings. Taysom Hill had one carry.

I'm scared as hell this team is good enough in a horrific division to win the title and keep this staff another year. I never want to "tank" or purposefully lose, but I will not be able to watch this team in 2024 if we have the same coaching staff. We are old. Our 150 million dollar QB is only marginally better than what we had last year....and our cap situation is always hell, but this team has too much talent and playmakers to be 5-5 against the easiest schedule in the league.

Bills just fired their OC. Second one to fall this year. Saints are averaging less than 20 points per game and sit at the bottom on offense, but we keep the status quo. I hate it.

We don't have an offensive identity....we said we wanted to be a ball control offense but we built our team as if we want to be a vertical offense...but then we turn around and call plays that a physical WR like thomas would be better suited for but we throw them to our QB turned TE....all while having one of the greatest receiving TE on the roster as a healthy scratch who was targeted once in the end zone - AND CAUGHT A GD TOUCHDOWN!!!

6lb 7oz sweet baby Jesus make it make sense

But what's the narrative if we run the ball more down 27-3? See, numbers are just that, numbers. They do NOT always tell the true story. WE WERE DOWN 27-3!!!

This, got damnit this.

Underhill pointed out how little Thomas is being used on slant routes/Crossers despite it being his best routes. Instead they are using him on comebacks and curls, something you'd think Olave would be better suited for.

It's just all disjointed.

We're talking about situational runs here, not necessarily saying were going to be a run the ball 30x's a game team. It's just who are we in key scenarios, are we a team that will pass in that scenario or are we a team that will run the ball and dare you to stop us. It's just our identity isn't right for the way the team is built

trust me, Allen isn't going anywhere for another year whether we win out or lose. He's your coach for at least another season. I don't think Allen will truly find success until he gives up playcalling duties, finds a new OC, and just focuses on being the HC.

I disagree. I don't see how the ownership and organization could bring these guys back if they do not win the division THIS year. I could be wrong, but they will put a powder keg to the fanbase. Season ticket sales will plummet.

I suspect they have put down on film last season what they will do based on defensive alignment and the the defense is dictating where they want our offense to go with the ball.
Dennis Raider is too simple minded as a coach to adjust.

well, because bringing in a new coach that can't remake the roster wouldn't be attractive to someone coming in. Think of it this way, when Payton came in he was able to bring in just over 24 new faces to the team. To establish his new culture and make a change. A new coach isn't going to have that option based on the less than stellar draft capital and money tied up in aging vets. If anything, it's more likely they run it back but you'll see a good # of players currently on the team, no longer here in a year. Kamara and Thomas likely have their younger replacements already on the roster in Perry/Miller. I expect Cam to return, not so sure about Davis and I'd argue using Lattimore as a bargaining chip to get resources and sliding Taylor back on the outside where he's infinitely more comfortable.

If they throw that WR screen play, whatever it is again, i'm gonna flip.

Our WR's cannot block that. Dudes get tackled immediately. Why do they keep throwing it.

I think the team needs to infuse more hurry up concepts. We move the ball more consistently in that scenario

It's hard to give him touches when Taysom is better than he is in short yardage and in the RedZone.

Williams is averaging 2.9 YPC which is by far the lowest in his career. We need to revamp the line if we're going to be able to run the ball consistently and effectively. Even AK is averaging a career low 3.7YPC right now and the lowest yards a game on the ground and he's averaging pretty much the same number of touches as he has the last couple of years and I don't think it's due to a decline of any sorts.

Our line is horrible. We're just not as horrible as we were coming into the season. But it's not anywhere near where it needs to be.

RT - Ramchzk - first round pick
RG - Ruiz - first round pick (with brand new contract)
C - McCoy - second round pick
LG - Hearst - undrafted
LT - Peat - first round pick

Bench - Penning first round pick plus

The investment in draft capital and money is there. The play hasn't been good, but they are much better now that Penning has been benched.

That 2nd and 2

Was IMMEDIATELY after an 8 yard run by AK.

Let THAT sink in.
The disaster of that play had me claiming it was time to tank, in the gameday thread. It was tongue in cheek and I never want us to tank, but I think we are only good enough to win 7 games this season. And it’s not due to our talent.
