15 million for 15 touches (3 Viewers)

They aren't even smart touches.....

First drive after being down only 8, 1st and 10, Kamara is NOT on the field. Why run Jamal here? We completely abandoned the run even after getting with in 8, and the run plays we call just make zero sense. The Taysom touches I get. We need to have an emergency qb that isn't Hill so we can keep that package in the game plan if a QB goes down.

That's the cap hits for Alvin Kamara, Taysom Hill, and Jamal Williams this year and how many total touches they had total yesterday. We are as inconsistent as their touches per game in key situations.

2nd and 2 - We throw a WR screen that goes for -3 yards. Why?
1st and 20 - We call a deep shot (incomplete) Why?
2nd and 20 - We call a short pass play (incomplete) Why?
3rd and 20 - We call a pass play (short to Williams) Why?
2nd a 5 - After a 5 yard Kamara run we call a pass Why? - Carr was sacked too

There's too many situational moments where this team thinks they have Drew Brees at QB and can win consistently with the pass and they don't. It hasn't been that way all year. All year this team has fed off smashmouth football and all year it's something that when it's proven it works..we immediately get away from it the next game, series, or play. and go in with a pass to set up the run script.

This BS is on Allen I'm over it.
Pete Carmichael does not have any "feel" for what to call. It's almost like he scripts the entire game and does not deviate from the script. There is no chance that Sean Payton calls those non-sensical shot plays after we cut the lead to 8 and were at midfield with over 2 minutes left in the game.

RT - Ramchzk - first round pick
RG - Ruiz - first round pick (with brand new contract)
C - McCoy - second round pick
LG - Hearst - undrafted
LT - Peat - first round pick

Bench - Penning first round pick plus

The investment in draft capital and money is there. The play hasn't been good, but they are much better now that Penning has been benched.
The line hasn't played well for years now. Don't really care where they were drafted and how much they've invested into the line at this point. Even if they are better than when they started the season, it's still not good enough. They need to get a lot better. They've consistently gotten our QBs hurt for years now and our running game has been pedestrian in that timeframe as well. I'm still not happy with their play. Our standards have come down so much because of the horrid play at the beginning of the year.

Fair, but they will not make wholesale changes on the line. Hell, after not picking up his fifth year option, the Saints rewarded Ruiz with a fat new contract. Blame Loomis for that.

The YUGE miss is Penning. You gave up a ton of draft capital to trade up to select him. Just like Davenport, you missed. I get missing on first round picks every so often (it happens), but you can't be wrong on the guys you trade up for. It literally kills your team.

They traded up to pick Olave, they used original pick on Penning.

It's hard to give him touches when Taysom is better than he is in short yardage and in the RedZone.

Williams is averaging 2.9 YPC which is by far the lowest in his career. We need to revamp the line if we're going to be able to run the ball consistently and effectively. Even AK is averaging a career low 3.7YPC right now and the lowest yards a game on the ground and he's averaging pretty much the same number of touches as he has the last couple of years and I don't think it's due to a decline of any sorts.

Our line is horrible. We're just not as horrible as we were coming into the season. But it's not anywhere near where it needs to be.
I think the problem is they keep running Kamara up the middle. He is better in space. Giving him 15 carries up the middle a game is not what they need to be doing. Williams, Taysom, and Miller should be taking the bulk of those carries. PC is not smart enough to realize that. Williams has so few carries, how do you expect him to get in a rhythm?

Because from TOP TO BOTTOM, we keep calling and doing the same st-pid crap almost every game.

Agree. Kamara is a mismatch. He is so fluid and athletic, plays should be designed to intentionally get him in space against defenders. It's like we are running 1990 or early 2000's brand of football and hope to be top 5. I truly think one of our biggest problems is coaching. Especially on the offensive side of the ball.
