18,000 to 20,000 Eagles fans in New Orleans??? {just a rumor - merged}

I have been scouring th internet at a number of sites. And all of the tickets available online that I have found combined total up to about 4,000 - $5,000 tickets and they are still available combined with the number of Saints fans at every game this year. It just don't add up. I cal BS.

I was at the Eagles game and while they did bring a good bit, there is NO #$%^& way they brought 5-10,000, that is a pure joke!!!

Maybe a thousand or two even that I don't know. Every game this year has been PURE Black and Gold, anything else is flat out wrong.

Oh and thanks for setting them straight bclemms, I love when these idiots around the country try to speak on things they don't have a clue about, they look at the population of the city itself and assume that's where the only saints fans come from, not realizing that a HUGE amount of fans come from the surrounding areas of Jefferson(400,000 people) St Tammany(250,000) not counting South Mississippi and the rest of Louisiana, these places are pure Saints country.

Fans support is definitely not a problem with or without Katrina.

Like you said its the business community that has always been the question mark.

Oh and the 25,000 left in Saint Bernard.....:ezbill: and I can tell you every one of them is a true blue Saints fan....

20,000 people wouldn't have been able to get into the city in such short notice, nevermind find anywhere to stay. This one just isn't true. The tickets that they MAY have gotten their hands on would be from ticket exchanges from Saints season ticket holders, but this would be in the hundeds (at most) and not in the thousands.

18,000 to 20,000 Eagles fans in New Orleans??? {merged}

it was just reported in the news in this area (Phila) that there are 18k to 20k Eagles fans in New Orleans right now that are going to be at the game. How did that many Eagles fans get tickets? They are saying that it is going to be a sea of green in the dome.

They've been hyping that up all week.

I REALLY doubt it. Maybe they're just trying to give themselves a false sense of security.

BS no way . We sold out the dome season ticket wise and you know most of those people bought thier playoff tickets. So, unless we had a bunch of fans selling thier tickets it aint true and I don't think there is anyway that our fans would sellout and miss history.

I was in the quarter most of the day and I saw at least 20. So, only 19, 980 left to account for.

They added a "0". There will be 2,000 tops.

LMAO

Please. I was in the CBD all day today and saw like 10 of them. Do they realize how much 18-20k people are? That's 1/3 of the Superdome. How are 20,000 people supposed to get tickets to the biggest game in the teams history when season tickets were sold out before the season? How are they going to fly down here on such notice?

They can't.

It's BS.

I think there are 18000 to 20000 Eagle fans in New Orleans, but, a majority will not be at the game. The bars of the Quarter will be chalk full of them, though, when the game is played.

As an Eagles fan, I agree that 20K is a little high. I would not be surprised to see 5-10K at the dome though. We do travel very well.

Yeah, I've heard that all week. But when you really think about it, about a third (20,000) of the season ticket holders would not only have to sell their tickets, but all to Eagles fans. I would think most would have a much easier time selling their tickets to a nearby Saints fan. Though some sells could be through the internet, like ebay, I don't think most people really know how to do that. Anyway, I don't think I've ever seen a playoff game with a third of the stadium as the opposing team's fans anyway.
