2018 Draft Prospects (7 Viewers)

He's supposedly up to 250 but still not a good time for him. He is unraveling similar to Demontre Moore a few years ago. I remember so many of us being high on him then his stock started to fall rapidly. He went from being mocked 1st round early in the process as high as top15 at times to being a 3rd round pick by the Giants.

I agree w/the sentiment, but teams already tabbed Moore as being a poor athlete well before the draft. Moore was never seen as an explosive twitched up guy to begin with. The combine and tests simply proved that.

Key's x-factor was his supposed speed and burst ability. I personally think Key's fall is more similar to Devonte Fields from Louisville. Both guys were coming off of stellar seasons, and then flopped the year before entering the draft. Both had very similar issues w/injuries and what not. I think Key will get drafted at some point. But I wouldnt be surprised at all if he went undrafted like Fields.

Undrafted would still be a huge surprise for me. Somebody will take a chance on him.

This is exactly how i felt, no real game changing WRs early on, but good middle round #2 type Wrs and we have a lot of middle round picks so works out perfect for us.

Draft “experts” didn’t view Michael Thomas as a #1 WR either. Went in the 2nd rd. I literally looked at MT’s footwork and hands and saw that he was a #1 WR, despite his lack of college production. I’m calling my shot again and saying that DJ Moore will be special. Quote me

As I said, I think he'll get drafted. But w/all the excess baggage, coupled w/the on field inconsistencies, and pedestrian workout numbers, YES...Him going undrafted is not out of the realm of possibility.

His college will get him drafted a some point.

Lol, I dont think his college will have anything what so ever to do w/Key getting drafted. So, going by your rational, Danny Etling should be hearing his name called at some point in the draft because he went to LSU. I think Key's envisioned upside and 2016 potential will be what get him drafted.

Sure it will. A small school prospect with similar measurables/production/questions would risk going undrafted...because he went to LSU someone will take a shot at him at some point.

Alabama players get the same treatment to an extent.

Only problem I see with DJ Moore is he doesn't look as competitive running his routes. A lot of his production came on screens quick throws to him etc...he looks lazy when he has to run an actual timing route at times.

Of course that could truly be because of poor QB play and being less interested. Some people saw the same thing with Thomas saying he didn't look to be playing hard at times etc.

Arden Key undrafted? That's a bold statement. Somebody will roll the dice on his potential - just a question of who. But there's no doubt he's hurt his draft stock.

Do you wanna know who I think has really fallen? Rashaan Evans. Him refusing to run at the combine (and at his pro day), paired with his pedestrian numbers in other drills...

I'm not impressed. Neither are the scouts and GM's, from what I'm reading.

That somebody might be the Saints.

I dont know about that. So youre basically saying because a guy went to an FBS power school they'll get drafted? I understand the small school vs the name brand, thats elementary. But to say a guy who simply goes to Bama, LSU, etc. gets drafted cause of their school is just not true. I mean, take a gander at all the UDFAs at the end of the draft. Every year, I see Bama, LSU, Georgia, USC, etc. big schools on that list too. Just saying...

Lol, i know its out there, for sure. But, just to be clear, i did say that i thought Key was gonna get drafted. In my opinion, the off field stuff mixed in w/the inconsistencies in tech, him being a liability against the run, & now the less than steller workout have only made things worse for him. & Key did this at a workout friendly 230ish. So ya, to me, going undrafted isnt crazy. I think the single most important factor working in Key's favor is the lack of EDGE players in this particular class.

As far as Evans, im w/you 100. He's taken a pretty big public hit during the process. Its def not the best look, at least on the surface. I still like him a ton, though, cause of his film. He looks plenty fast, but you def wanna clear that up w/a time. It could end up being a blessing for us if he falls to 27. Evans is like a legit move LB. He can also pass rush & holds his own in coverage. I actually think he's better than advertised in coverage. I personally think Rashaan Evans is a diet version of Tremaine Edmunds. Evans & Edmunds were used in similar capacities & both do very similar things on the field. Not a fan of Evans' predraft at all, but it could end up being a good thing if he falls to us. His reels are as beastly as they come.

Good problem to have I suppose to have Davis, Klein, Anzalone, Evans all healthy as possible starters. I still could see Key drafted day 2 like you said b/c of lack of edge talent. Also this could cause guys slated in the 2nd at edge to rise possibly to late first. One guy I like is Josh Sweat out of Florida State who tested very well and draws comparisons to Danielle Hunter

I honestly will feel comfortable with any WR we draft. Having MT to mentor them will pay huge dividends. MT’s dedication to his craft, sets him apart from other WRs around the league. Those little things that MT works on, to gain a competitive edge against his competition, I’m confident that he will pass that along to the newcomer, or newcomers. We struck GOLD with him

Forget whatever game crituqie or his off the field whatever.

THIS alone makes me now think he's clean off our board. Just...something about him openly talking about us like that makes me think it will rub Payton the wrong way. Apropos of nothing, mind you. Just feels right.

Goody.

I think the one trait that the Saints need in a wide receiver right now is short area quickness and the ability to pop open quickly off the line of scrimmage. The Saints offense is too talent rich to fall short on so many clutch 3rd and mediums. I don’t hold back saying my favorite WR in this class is Equanimeous St. Brown. He looks like another MT type guy.. But he doesn’t necessarily slot in as the best fit for the Saints offense. Don’t get me wrong, if he ends up a Saint I’m going to be over the moon because he’s insanely talented. But guys in this class I like to compliment Thomas are the guys like DJ Moore, Michael Gallup, and now that his value is where it should be instead of top 10 pick, Calvin Ridley.

Five times in two months? Didn't know that. I figured Arden Key was off the board altogether. But maybe they know something we don't, maybe it's not a smokescreen. That's a helluva thing to ponder. Because it's realistic that he could fall to 27. If he's the real deal after all, and is there at #27... then wow.

You've given me some food for thought Bleedit.
