2021 CFB Prospects to Follow (1 Viewer)

So i had been hearing/seeing a ton of buzz on all the college post/pre-game shows about WKU QB Bailey Zappe. So i started watching out for the WKU games at the beginning of Oct.

My first real exposure i had of Zappe was the game vs OD. The man totally incinerated OD & from then, till now, the dude has been an inferno raining fire from the sky on every team he’s played. He’s got WKU on a 7 game winning streak & has thrown over 50…50TDs!

Man, Zappe is cold too. He doesnt seem to get rattled at all. He has really good pocket awareness & has just enough juice to keep plays alive w/his legs & to run for chunk yards/1st downs. Zappe also has a noticeably quick release. He has a lot of variance in his arm, showing fínese on touch throws & also having enough boom on deep passes. His backstory on how he got to where he is now is pretty cool too.

In terms of this coming drafts QB class, im still all in on Sam Howell. But im now a Zappe believer. On Day 2/3, whatever/whenever, Zappe is jgonna be close to the top of my draft wishlist. Im 110% all aboard the Zappe hype train. This dude is bombs away exciting.

Best receiver in the draft rd1, best available receiver/TE in the draft round 2...speaking this into existence.

For those wanting a QB from this weak class in rd 1. you are aware that he likely won't play year 1 so that is kind of like throwing a pick out the window for immediate use?

You willing to go into next season w/ the team as is w/ Hill/Book QBing the offense as is without an impact player from rd1?

Some more context on WKU QB Bailey Zappe.

On a side note, they say this a weak QB class. But they also said that about 2017. But aside form Mitch Trubisky, the 1st RD QBs were Mahomes & Watson, easily top 5 talents at the position in the league today.

Now look at the so called loaded QB drafts like the very next in 18. That’s when Baker, Darnold, Josh Allen, Rosen & Lamar came out. The dudes who were the most polarizing (Allen/Lamar) ended up being the best in that draft. Heck, Lamar nearly dropped out of the 1st RD completely. Meanwhile, Baker, Darnold & Rosen are either on the verge of being replaced or on the bench completely.

Then look at this past draft, a supposed elite class. It’s def too early to tell, but from face value, none of those guys are looking too good right now, save for Mr. Mccorkle Jones. The dude, who again, was the most polarizing & questionable prospect at his position.

At the end of the day, i believe a major part of these guys success & failure are where they go & what team drafts them. If our FO drafts a QB in the 1st RD, im 100% confident that that’s right choice. Payton wanted Mahomes & look at him now. Then he wanted Mac Jones, it’s early, but look at him now.

I mean, i totally get it though. This class on paper looks the way it does. But at the same time this class 100% has dudes w/traits that fit exactly what Sean Payton wants in his QBs. These QBs have traits that can be developed and fine tuned to an elite level under this coaching staff.

Just my rant/opinion about this QB class. I personally dont think this QB class as bad as the talking heads/draftniks are trying to convince us that it is. I mean, just watch the actual games from start to finish w/your own two eyes & tune out the noise that the media is trying to fill our heads with. Not all these guys are as bad as theyre being made out to be.

He’s only a freshman, and he doesn’t start, yet.
But Anthony Richardson, QB at Florida, is special.
Really special.
It just looks different.
Tes he hasn’t played Bama yet (USF and FAU) but he’s played 2 college teams and a blind man can see the talent.

Only played 7 plays yesterday vs USF.
3/3 for 102 and TWO TDs.

Ran it 4 for 115, including a 70 yard TD
Last week, he ran it 7/160 with ANOTHER 70 yard TD.

He big at 6’4” 240, throws like Big Ben, and I’m not even joking when I say he runs like Lamar in college…..at 240.

explosive, instinctual, and super fast.

Check out yesterday.

And week one run……the acceleration 😎

His galloping straight-up gait and size remind me of Eric Dickerson.

Trey McBride is the #1 TE in the Nation with over 1000 yards receiving

Similar to Cam Cleeland or Greg Olsen

Nevada 6'9 qb, punter, kicker

Nate Cox

NOFALCONS thanks for the vid's and good to hear from you man!

Been meaning to ask you , who are the QB prospects you like this year? Sort of an underwhelming class, but was curious who you like. You nailed Jones last year

Ive always been a big fan of Brock Purdy. At one time he was actually viewed as a potential 1st RD talent. I still think he has a future in the NFL, but he has to go to the right team/offense to be developed for a few years.

Props to Brock Purdy, for sure, but im not here to talk about him. Im here to post on his TE Charlie Kolar. For as long as ive been watching Purdy, ive been watching Kolar.

This dude is clutch & consistent. He may not wow anyone w/big time splash plays, but what he is, is efficient & sure fire reliable. I’d take that over a splash player everyday, all day.

I mean, for a college TE to log the stats that he has over the course of his college career vs the schools he’s played against is crazy impressive. I think he’s wildly underrated.

Probably because he looks like a good, but not great athlete. He prob wont seem too sexy to the guys who base everything they know about “football” on the Combine/underwear Olympics. But on the field Kolar quietly kills defenses by catching everything in his radius, moving chains, & consistently providing mismatches & scoring TDs in the RZ. Oh & by the way…Kolar can block too. This dude would be the silent assassin in a Sean Payton O. To me, Charlie Kolar is Jeremy Shockey.

This is vs the Oregon D. Kolar could have had an even better game if Purdy got to him in his progression, instead of forcing the ball to his primary receiver.

Pretty good comparison. Massive hands on both of them.

You always provide a wealth of new players for me to study. Nice seeing you post again.

Agreed. Burks is an intriguing prospect. I know he's going to grade out well on my spreadsheet once I get all of the data. That combined with how he plays indicate that he should transition well to the NFL.

Personally, I'm content with Bringing Winston Back but if they want more depth and competition next year my favorites are below.

Draft qbs For the Saints I Like:

1)Malik Willis, Liberty
2)Carson Strong, Nevada
3)Hendon Hooker, Tennessee
4)Stetson Bennet, UGA
5)Bailey Zappe, WKU

Trade candidates I would look into are Tyler Huntley and Jacob Eason.
