Sadly the LSU softball squad is about to lose their 4th game in a row. It sure looked like they had something special until they hit the SEC schedule. They just can’t shut down the big plays by their opponents. Hopefully the LSU pitchers can improve before the losses get out of hand. 😢
 
Well, 4 straight losses has just happened to the softball team.
They have a lot to work on to get back in the SEC race.
 
The LSU Softball Tigers just took down the top seeded Tennessee Vols in the SEC Tournament's, 2-1. They will face the winner of Missouri vs Arkansas game (starting at 8:07 CDT) with a shot at the SEC championship game! This win today (after a seven hour rain delay) should cement a spot as a Top 8 Seed in the NCAA Tournament. Geaux Tigers! :grin:
 
Beth Torina was clearly miffed that the RPI of her team wasn't considered when seeding the teams that lead to the Tigers being in the 9th position instead of the 8th (or better). Had LSU been granted the 8th seed, then Stanford would be traveling to Baton Rouge for the Super Regional rather than the other way around.

I'll admit that I don't know enough about Stanford's season and/or the case they have for getting the 8th seed. But now the Tigers will have to prove that they are worthy of a trip to Oklahoma for the WCWS. There are some real powerhouse teams that will make up the final eight. It would be a real feather in the cap of the softball program to be among these finalists.

Well, at least the Lady Tigers had a good 1st inning by racking up 3 runs. Now it’s time for the Tiger defense to make a stand!
 
LSU is getting batters on base, but can’t get anymore runners home.
It’s hard to imagine that 3 runs is going to win this thing.
 
I “Costanza’d” again. Newland just whacked a 3 run homer in the top of the 5th inning! 😁
 
And Kelly Lynch just banged a GRAND SLAM home run to make the score 11-1!
This is a great game by the Lady Tigers! :claps:
It’s time to get a run rule game to start this Super Regional!

The Tigers run rule Stanford and are one win away from a return to the WCWS! I sure hope LSU can seal the deal tomorrow! 👍
 
The Lady Tigers aren’t having as easy of a time against Stanford tonight as they did last night. That star pitcher for Stanford is really on her game in this one. :shocked:

Hope the Tigers can make some big hits and pitches tonight.
