2024 NFL Combine Starts This Thursday - February 29th (2 Viewers)

I was impressed with wr Ricky Pearsall. Crisp route runner, great hands, solid speed.
I have liked Pearsall for a while now. Guy was Florida’s only threat, and was criminally underutilized at UF as QB play was inconsistent AF. Let it never be said that he didn’t show up in big games, his quarterbacks never did.

I don't think the 2 WRs from LSU know how to block. Heck, half the time their Olineman didn't block.
I think blocking isn’t a big deal for anyone in college football. With all these spread offenses, nobody is being prepared to play on an NFL level.

Not sure how that follows TBH. A good percentage of your spread run game and screen game depends heavily on receiver blocking.

I would not be suprised by WR in the 2nd. We will address one of our OL/DL needs via FA.

Sure, but the guys with the ability to play in the NFL are not often the guys being counted on to do that blocking. If they are running a WR screen, they are the guy they are getting the ball too. And, out of necessity the blocking schemes aren't as complex. So, while they may do it some, it's not as important or as much as will be required in the NFL.

I also think the number of spread offenses in college are why there seems to be a lack of talent on the OL in the NFL in general. Most teams have decent starters, but finding good backups is very difficult. It's probably part of why spread concepts, RPO, and Read Option have moved from college to the NFL and become relatively common in the NFL.
