New read from me.

This is the mock draft that features all 32 teams that I have written for the 2025 cycle. I'll probably have two more before the opening night of the draft.
The team-oriented mocks for the Saints will be back soon. Enjoy!!

Wouldn't ruin my day any. I'd be pretty happy with it. But for the life of me I can't understand why Shedeur Sanders is in the top 10. I don't even think he's a first round pick. I also have a suspicion that Travis Hunter may drop out of the top 10 depending on combine. He just didn't wow me as a CB or a WR. But only because he played both very well. I'm uncertain how he's going to get placed on NFL teams draft boards because of that. It's a little confusing and creates a lot of variables.

He's a CB1 that can also give you WR3 reps.

I think it's two things: #1 is a weak QB class. But more significant is #2: "brand" and hype. This is Tim Tebow but amped up even more.
Shedeur's hype is nowhere near Tebow's. And that's with being attached to Coach Prime's last name.

That feels like wishful thinking. Players have trouble staying healthy for a full 17 games playing 1 position. Players have trouble keeping their bodies from getting worn out over 17 games, let alone the post season.

Thinking a player can do both, especially a rookie while staying healthy and keeping the body fresh seems like nothing more than wishful thinking. I think most teams are going to have him on the draft board as a single position which hurts his draft stock. Because while he was a very good CB, he wasn't lock down even against bottom of the barrel college offenses like KU, KState and BYU (BYU I'm guessing, I didn't watch that game).

The team is so discombobulated. Most of the injuries were on the offense. Yet, when the OL got back together, they were still bad. The defense wasn’t as injured but was poor all season. From that, I conclude that in general, the defense needs more help through the draft. And, I think the defense is older.

Nonetheless, we have to see what happens in free agency. Probably, not much will change because of cap constraints, but the Saints have a history of surprising everyone.

As far as Jeanty is concerned, look at it this way: we have a 30 year old star and a young player who’s almost always injured. And we have a new HC who comes from a team that featured Saquon Barkley. Hmmmmmm..,.

I'd probably go with Will Johnson, possibly Mike Green, or trade down over taking Jeanty at #9, but I wouldn't have a huge problem with taking Jeanty if this is how the draft falls and you can't get good value for a trade down. But, I will say that I'd be a lot happier if a good value at DE, DT, WR, or OT fell to us at #9.

I'm not sure we know what Moore wants to do on offense. He did do power run stuff in Philly, but he really liked to throw the ball in Dallas while also keeping teams honest with the run. I suspect what he really learned in Philly is how important a great OL and a great DL are. He also saw very talented OL and DL in Dallas. So, I'm not sure that Jeanty is such an obvious pick as some think.

Will of course depend mightily on what we do in free agency. Wouldn't mind Jeanty at 9 if we indeed lure Becton away from the Eagles to plug the glaring hole at guard, for example. Our needs start in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
Yep. Build from the inside out.

@Infoman wouldn’t you say the Eagles have the best o and d lines in football, or at the top of the league?

I agree with you on needing playmakers too, but just always seems to me that you win in the trenches. The Eagles just won the Super Bowl, trouncing the league darlings, with two amazing lines. I know Saquon is a stud too tho…..

The Chiefs have and have had a dominant d line too…..

As to the OP, thanks for the read. Don’t want Jeanty at 9 but I do understand it and wouldn’t be upset.

Sure the Eagles do... But we do this every year.... "Well team XYZ won the SB because they have this or that - So to win a SB you must have this or that"

Teams win in all sorts of ways - There is no one formula. And for as good as the Eagles are up front on both sides of the ball...

They are not winning a SB without investing a lot of money and draft capital in Their QB - WR 1, 2, and 3 - TE - And RB (All Top 55 picks).... In fact they couldn't win it with nearly the same team minus Barkley prior to this year...

One of Moore’s strengths is that he has worked with a number of different types of offenses. He is rather clearly a coach who adapts to the strengths of his players.

No doubt and I think that adaptability is one of his greatest strengths, but I also think he likely has in mind a way that he wants to play. But it may take some time and a few drafts until we see that vision. The good news is we know he can adapt until he has what he needs to run his scheme.
