32-Team First-Round Mock Draft: Saints Take Ashton Jeanty at 9, Abdul Carter Goes to Cleveland (22 Viewers)

Sure the Eagles do... But we do this every year.... "Well team XYZ won the SB because they have this or that - So to win a SB you must have this or that"

Teams win in all sorts of ways - There is no one formula. And for as good as the Eagles are up front on both sides of the ball...

They are not winning a SB without investing a lot of money and draft capital in Their QB - WR 1, 2, and 3 - TE - And RB (All Top 55 picks).... In fact they couldn't win it with nearly the same team minus Barkley prior to this year...
Good points for sure.
I still believe that you build the lines first, we just have drafted terribly on the lines. Have to learn how to hit there. Too many complete whiffs.

I’m happy whichever way they go this time tho as the team needs help all over.

A lot of cheap contracts are on that team too.
Especially on defense

We do this every year, but this year the new HC said that when you build a team you start with the OL and DL. Doesn't mean he won't draft a playmaker in the first, but it does show that he thinks OL and DL are a priority.

And Barkley wasn't this Barkley until he got to run behind the Eagle's OL.

We have already built our lines... we have spent premium pick after premium pick on OL and DL nearly every year for over a decade.... It's time for those guys to not suck, and bring in some young guys who can score points so I don't die of boredom by halftime.

Every coach says that.... Every position is a priority when you don't have talent at said position... And Barkley was always Barkley... The Eagles OL wasn't winning anything without Barkley...

You can't just wish or will your OL or DL to be good. If they aren't you need to fix them whether that be with draft picks, free agents, better schemes, or better coaching. And if coaching and scheme don't do it you have no choice but to get better players. It doesn't matter how many picks you used on them in the past. That's especially so when you are getting a fresh start with a new HC with no connections to the prior regime.

They shouldn't force a pick on the lines but if the value is there, you take them just like you take a playmaker if the value is right. There are just too many holes on this team to force a pick on a playmaker or on the lines.

I know, agreed. That’s why I said we have to learn how to draft the right guys on the lines. Too many misses.

Every coach says that because it's true and they mean it. And the point about Barkley is that as good as he is, he couldn't produce up to his talent until he got to run behind the Eagles' OL with the threat of Hurts keeping the ball on the Zone Read.

And, Barkley wasn't winning anything without the Eagles' OL.

Anyway, Jeanty isn't Barkley.

Wouldn't ruin my day any. I'd be pretty happy with it. But for the life of me I can't understand why Shedeur Sanders is in the top 10. I don't even think he's a first round pick. I also have a suspicion that Travis Hunter may drop out of the top 10 depending on combine. He just didn't wow me as a CB or a WR. But only because he played both very well. I'm uncertain how he's going to get placed on NFL teams draft boards because of that. It's a little confusing and creates a lot of variables.
No way Hunter falls out of the top 5. No one has done what he did at both positions.

They’ve been great tho, even before Barkley. Haven’t they gotten to a couple super bowls even without him? Think they barely lost the last one a couple of seasons ago. I’ll go look it up….

Either way, we need help all over, they’ll be hard pressed to disappoint me this draft.

Typing that is testing fate tho I know lol.

New read from me.

This is the mock draft that features all 32 teams that I have written for the 2025 cycle. I'll probably have two more before the opening night of the draft.
The team-oriented mocks for the Saints will be back soon. Enjoy!!

If Cleveland deals Miles, they should be sitting on multiple firsts. I think they would go QB since that's the biggest hole.

Fair, but what do you do with Watson? Release him and eat the dead money?

Barkley was the missing piece to that team... Hurts even told him that after they won the SB... Anyway - This is the same debate we've had 1000 times in every thread....

You guys know where I am in terms of what we need to add to this team - and what parts have already been added over and over and over, and just need to be coached better and play better and stay healthy....

Not going to keep going in circles on this. I appreciate your (and others) opinions that differ... But I am not changing my mind on this.... because I like points.
