Kamara was in and open for the first down with a LB trailing. WOuld have gotten at least 20 yards

He was open behind the LOS and had 2 panthers waiting for him to get the ball. That was NOT the option to go for. THE play was JJ over the middle, he had a step on the DB. I gotta call KK and DC out on this one, 1st , we needed 4 yds and either no shorter routs was called or the WR's misread an option. 2nd DC made up his mind too early to throw it to Wilson. DC had plenty of time to let JJ clear the LB on the crossing route

Yep, I can't imagine Wilson being the first option. As a coach I would of had means or tipton before him.

Look, DA has blame in a lot of things but that last play was not one of them. He didn't call the play KK did , and he didn't pass up a shot at JJ over the middle DC did

That is silly. The HC should make 100% sure that his OC and QB 100% understand that the call and execution demand a high percentage throw that is past the sticks.

And especially when he knows he has a career loser QB that is known for giving up on plays and panic throwing deep.

That one is probably on the QB and OC not Allen in all fairness. OC probably had a few short to intermediate routes and one long one if it was open. Carr chose the long bomb.

In the Derrick Carr interview after the game he said he checked down to the throw to Wilson because the main receiver was covered.

That is silly. The HC should make 100% sure that his OC and QB 100% understand that the call and execution demand a high percentage throw that is past the sticks.

And especially when he knows he has a career loser QB that is known for giving up on plays and panic throwing deep.

LOL what is silly is to think that a defensive HC is going to override his OC on a play that the OC feels is his best play. AND JJ was open over the middle. DC just made the wrong read. And the throw WAS past the sticks

Sorry but DC was wrong, at the beginning of the route the LB's depth was deep enough not to throw it but if DC had waited just a lil longer he was open because the LB did not drop, and DC had plenty of time

EDIT: I see now that Kamara was in, and of course Carolina coaches made sure they had multiple players all over by far the biggest offensive threat. I still have to wonder why Hill isn't on the field making Carolina account for him too?

He didn't wait to see if JJ could separate from the DB , which he did. Go look at the play again. DC had PLENTY of time, at first the LB was in the way but JJ cleared him and had a step on the DB. DC got impatient and threw a LOW % pass
