A.T. Perry waived (Unclaimed off waivers); Perry signs to the Broncos practice squad (2 Viewers)

What would you think about playing Olave more in the slot if we can get a true X at some point?
Absolutely, you can play pitch and catch w/ him all day from slot, who's going to guard him? I'm not sure where he stands now but at one point he was top 5 in separation at WR through first 2 weeks.

I say this as perhaps the biggest AT fanboy pre-draft: I wish him luck in the NFL except against the Saints. Unfortunately, he was a poor fit for this offense from the jump. This offense is predicated more on timing, blocking, and clean route-running than anything else and he's a great guy if you need someone who can freelance and break off a route stem to exploit a hole in coverage. It's not a staple of this offensive scheme and he's a little too light in the breeches to be an effective perimeter blocker. I like the guy and his potential, but it is what it is.

What I want to see is more snaps for Bub. And for Mason to catch an incredible pass thrown under duress that hits him in the hands. Seriously, that pass was INSANE.

That was an insane throw and you need Tipton to catch that, but to be fair it would have been an amazing catch with him looking over the top of his head looking for the ball while moving 5 yards on an angle to get under the ball. But, that's the kind of catch you have to make if you want to be a top NFL WR.

Funnily enough, you wanna know a receiver from the Saints past who I think makes that catch despite not being a top wideout? Lance Moore. An overlooked aspect of Lance's game was his insane body control. On those teams around that era, the only player on the team with better body control was Reggie. Both of them seemed like they could move their arms/hands faster than what was humanly possible.

Now you got me thinking about THE two point conversion

Watch it in slow motion and tell me that doesn't look almost supernatural. Same with Reggie's spin TD over the pylon from (IIRC) that season.

Yep. The way he extended back to get the ball across the plane, as he was going to the ground.

You got me feeling nostalgic for Lance. Damn I miss that receiver group.

Didn't realize how good we had it. You might not think of them as world beaters but I swear they worked so good together in that offense.
Their skillsets worked together so well. You had the burner in Devery, you had the 3rd down machine in Colston who could literally catch anything thrown in his general direction, and the zone killer in Lance. On top of that, you had Meachem who was oddly dependable when his number was called and was a good perimeter blocker, and you also had Roby as the return specialist. Freaky good synergy in that group. Then you had Reggie as the electrifying guy that teams HAD to account for, and Pierre who was incredibly dependable and the best screen runner I've ever seen. That offense was really something else.

21 page thread for a guy who was 6th on the depth chart and cleared waivers. Wild.

I wish him the best, but he's gone and Saints gotta get the most out of the WRs they do have. Hopefully SR is the guy that can get the ball to 'em.
