Rosario Dawson has quietly injected herself into this discussion. She's now pretty substantially connected to Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. If she can find her way into a LOTR show or Star Trek vehicle, she'd be a contender. And as the OP, I feel it is my right and duty to award extra points for her being all sorts of naked in her movies.

It's not the first time she's been mentioned. She is definitely a bonafide nerd and she admits it.

By "nerd", I'm talking speculative fiction or genre fiction - sci-fi, fantasy, horror, dystopian, etc...I wondered about this when I noticed Karl Urban was in Lord of the Rings. That dude plays a major Star Trek character, Judge Dredd, is in the MCU, and had a medium role in Lord of the Rings...

On the one hand, for years I thought she was in that Olivia Munn category of "I'm pretending to be a massive nerd for attention and my career." But to her credit she stuck with it and even after marrying her old sugar daddy TV exec husband (who she never really acknowledges being married to, but definitely is. It's a bit weird but who am I to judge.) she kept up the geek stuff. So she seems legit.

Which is better than Munn who spent years screaming about cosplay and comic books and video games and calling herself Queen of the Geeks then when she got a mainstream career none of that sheet was ever mentioned ever again.
