More or less. The presence and frequency of certain keywords get stored in (non-SR) cookies that are then used to determine what ads get populated on certain sites. The big ad providers can track these cookies in whatever site they host ads, so your browsing preferences across many (if not most) common public sites can be, not exactly tracked (well, that too), but compiled.

The FSV ads at the bottom of the pages still show up for Subscribers. It's a contractual obligation. The Google ads at the top of the pages do not.

Regarding the OP, there aren't supposed to be any adult site type ads being served here. If you see one, please right click on the ad, click on properties, copy the URL and send it to me via PM so that I can raise hell and get it blocked.

Regarding the use of ad-blockers. Our Ad revenue is derived exclusively through ad impressions as well as click throughs. We don't get paid up front for simply hosting these ads. When you use an ad blocker to block ads here it means less ad revenue going to SR. So I hope that you can understand that when I see someone promoting the use of ad blockers here I get pretty irritated. :aargh:

I don't get the ones on the top of the page anymore on my laptop (this where I paid for my subscription).
However,
I frequent SR even more on my ipad and I do get them there even though I'm signed in.
Is there a setting I need to adjust?

I always use Tapatalk to navigate the boards with my IPAD, so I am not familiar with how the script works with blocking the ads in Safari for subscribers on an IPAD, or if it does at all. It's something that I will have to look into when I get a chance.
