Ahsoka Live Action Series (Disney+) (2 Viewers)

Yea I think it’s probably “accessible” to a non-Rebels audience, but it’s essentially like picking up a series in the 5th season from a buy-in standpoint. There is just no way this is resonating the same without that background.

Is it? Or is it more like starting a series of movies at episode 4? ;)

Exactly! lol Had we started with Episode One, Vader wouldn’t have been a mystery…Luke and Leia kissing would have been seen entirely different…

Did a re-watch and this Ep 4 not only holds up but really stands out as the finest work of the season, so far. I also loved Ep 1. I really liked Mando and even Fett, but this show is blowing them out of the water imo. Nothing will likely beat Andor for me, but they are vastly different experiences.
Things that stood out:
-The picture of Kanan in on the control panel of the Ghost
-The fight scenes were just outstanding and got better and better throughout
-Ray Stevenson as Baylan absolutely crushed it and has me only wanting to know more about the character and his motivations. Such a shame (RiP RS) but I really hope we get some sort of deeper exposition on the character before they inevitably have to write him away.
-The Shin actress did quite well, too. Really curious how she came to be an apprentice
-I feel pretty certain that Marrok just did not have the importance that most were projecting, but I think he probably was the creation/resurrection by Morgan and shows what sort of powers she has.
-Sabine actress did MUCH better, and even if this narrative is a little 'tropey' they are setting her up real well to get the hero redemption.
-A minor critique would be how they are portraying Hera, she is much too smart to just get in the way of the massive ring transport as a tactic. There is still a ton more time to get into the character properly, so it isn't a big deal.
-Where/when is Anakin actually coming from? This is going to be very interesting and I am super excited that Filoni is directing the next episode. I think Ahsoka is going to emerge from this very different. I am hearing that this is going to be an extra long episode, too!

I think Anakin is really The Son.

I think Anakin is really The Son.
Actually let me amend- and I think we’re out of the Spoiler window
I believe it would make more sense if Anakin was the Father - that’s kind of what the whole Mortis episode was about to complete his whole chose one/balance to the force arc
Ahsoka is obviously the daughter and I think when we meet Ezra it will make sense that he could be the Son

Something that clicked today- the parallels
Ahsoka + Sabine + Hera
vs
Baylon + Shin + Morgan (not quite a Hera parallel but close enough for Jazz)

secrets/ulterior motives
Ahsoka & Sabina are hiding motives from each other
Baylon & Morgan are as well
(Ahsoka’s and Babylon’s secrets are probably the main narrative thrust going forward)

Ezra and Thrawn are linked together at the end of Rebels (wherever you go I go) - it’s quite possible that connection tightened in the intervening years (doesn’t have to be an alliance, just a connection)
When Team Find Ezra and Team Find Thrawn get there, their targets will have very different agendas- and their resistance to return ‘just because’ will expose the fault lines of the hidden agendas
Ahsoka + Ezra + Sabine
and
Baylon + Thrawn + Morgan
will each be triangles of tension

So there could be at least 3 emotional/actual battlefields in each parallel group

Except Ezra rejected the dark side whereas Ahsoka here is embracing it. That's why the Son is appearing to her, to further tempt her towards the dark side.

Ahsoka rejected the Jedi but that doesn’t mean she went dark side - I can’t remember her ever even flirting with it
But Ezra has has been hyped by both Maul and Palpy

also
I think both Baylon and Ahsoka are after the same thing- a Force that is a mix of light and dark , not a binary either/or
But Ahsoka is more on like a Buddha grassroots notion (no institutions)
While Babylon’s is a bit more hidden- but if I’m guessing, it has something to do with witchery (maybe even getting rid of magic, whatever that would mean)
