Ah, the Beer Store. It was so easy to get beer there when I was underage. We used to hang out in the parking lot across the street to drink whatever we bought. I loved that place.

We went to Saints Corner on Seventh (I think) and St Charles.

Some more shots from West End:
(1) Fitzgerald's in the 1970s.
(2) Augie's Del Lago, a huge place (also home for a while to Happy Buddha Chinese restaurant)
(3) Maggie and Smitty's Crab Net. Tons of cats hung out there.
(4) The OLD Bridge (original wooden) with shrimp boat and a Piece of Brunings. The planters and bench backs would indicate that this was AFTER they closed it to cars, but before the metal bike/pedestrian bridge was built.
