All NFC South teams lost today, no one’s running away with the division (3 Viewers)

And this is what is making this season so hard to stomach. This team is extremely talented with the exception of the offensive line. our roster has way more talent than most of the teams in the NFC. Coaching must improve or this will destroy the fabric of this team including it’s special fan base.

Part of the fun every season is breaking down the numbers each week once we get to the middle of the season or so. Do we still control our own destiny? If not, how do we get that control back ?
I will do this again this season, but not with the same amount of enthusiasm as I usually do. Can't help but feel betrayed by Loomis.
Can't most of the blame be placed on him for our team's struggles right now? I think the Saints biggest problem is DA. PC is horrible, but if we had a different head coach, he would have found a way to remedy our OC issue. And Loomis was ultimately the reason we kept DA, right?
I just read the breakdown of today's game.
There is no reason we should have lost this game.
I will continue to hope for a playoff spot this season. But more out of liking to work the numbers than believing the Saints will do anything in the playoffs.
The thing is -- and I think we all know this and are extremely frustrated because of it -- the Saints have the talent. We are, on paper, a good team. But the major problem is that the guys who are responsible for putting together a good team are not handling the paperwork necessary to put good team members on the sidelines.
I am having trouble hoping the Saints get it together and begin showing how good they are on the field and not only on paper.
And currently the Saints are a toss-up in controlling their own destiny.
If we win out and the Bucs win all of their remaining games except the one against us, the Bucs and the Saints will end the season at 14 -- 3 ; tied at both head-to-head and in the division. What is the 4th tiebreaker?
W % vs common opponents.
W % vs Conference opponents.
Strength of Victory based on record of teams you beat.
Strength of Schedule based on record of all opponents.

At this point I really don't care anymore. I'm so indifferent when it comes to this team. This year is killing my love for football way more than the NoCaĺl and bountygate ever could. There was hope.

Even Ditka Era didn't make me indifferent. Those were almost talentless rosters. It was expect they would lose almost every week.

But this is painful, brutal, horrible and terrible. This team has an excellent roster and it is just being wasted due to very terrible coaching.

Even with new coaching staff next year, there are no garauntees the Saints will have an excellent roster. AK, MT and Latt are about at the end of thier prime. DD and Cam are in thier twilight, probably Honey Badger as well.

I know many on here would be just excited of the Saints made the playoffs. But there isn't much to be gained from it. It would only be because every one else Playted so poorly that by default the Saints got the division crown. Which is far different from the Carolina scenario in 2014, that team had a talented roster and emerging young Cam Newton.

I don't find that fun at all. That's the game of teams wallowing in mediocrity

This is what makes it even worse for us. We live in a horrible division that keeps giving us the slightest hope. This is last year all over again. We’ll do the same thing next year because we don’t learn as an organization. We might even win this terrible division (I don’t think we will) and we’ll get our arses haded to us in the wild card round (much like the Vikings last year).

Huh? Keeping track of where your team stands in regard to making the playoffs applies no matter what your record is. Whether your team is 3 -- 3, or 5 -- 1, you still want to keep track week to week to know how many wins it will take to clinch a playoff spot, whether it is wildcard, division or conference.

It doesn't matter where this team lands in the division... Without changes we're not going anywhere.

All it takes is a HC change to win this division. These players need the FO to save them. That’s the spark that can turn the tide. They have to get rid of these 2 clowns.
And there is no way you are going to convince me that the front office is not fully aware of the Saints coaching situation.
Why won't they make a change? Too expensive? Mrs. Benson has lost her passion for the Saints organization? No clear cut replacements available for head coach and offensive coordinator? Don't want to deal with the hassle that comes with making big changes?

I can agree with DA not being the HC and Pete being the OC, but saying that the Saints will cut Kamera, Thomas, and Olave is too far.
Absolutely agree on this one. Carolina dealt DJ Moore AND McCaffery, and now they complain there's no talent on offense! I'd rather underperform than be a complete hopeless mess.
