All NFC South teams lost today, no one’s running away with the division (2 Viewers)

Saints fans shouldn’t be so shortsighted that they hope for this team to win the NFCS this year.

The division is bad… and whoever wins it, isn’t a real contender.

Winning the South this season hurts the Saints long term!! It keeps DA around (and Carr) and nothing will change!!

This entire organization needs a reset!!! It may take 2-3 years to see a positive difference once it happens, but that’s what’s needed.
Anything else is just “keep doing what you’re doing”

I don’t know if it’s not worth it…. When Sean first got here we were all offense and no defense with an offensive minded coach calling the offense. Now we’re are the polar opposite. Maybe bring in our offensive version of Greg Williams and see what happens?
I “dead falcon’ed” this because DA has got to go! There’s no fixing him, he’s not a NFL HC.

The Saints do not even have a chance to be good again… until he’s not the HC.

He’s a slightly better defensive mind than Haslett as a HC.

All it takes is a HC change to win this division. These players need the FO to save them. That’s the spark that can turn the tide. They have to get rid of these 2 clowns.
EXACTLY!!! Watch the Lions and then realize that the Saints roster is superior to theirs… but those players believe in their HC, and their HC isn’t a numbskull! …and their OC is going to be some lucky team’s next HC!!

If the Saints brass had a brain in their skull, they’d be figuring out a way to get Ben Johnson as their HC next year!!!

That may be true. All good…. And just don’t see management axing him after a .500 season, which is what we are looking at…. And I’m stewing for a possibility of winning a sorry division next year and giving ourselves some sort of chance.

Part of the fun every season is breaking down the numbers each week once we get to the middle of the season or so. Do we still control our own destiny? If not, how do we get that control back ?
I will do this again this season, but not with the same amount of enthusiasm as I usually do. Can't help but feel betrayed by Loomis.
Can't most of the blame be placed on him for our team's struggles right now? I think the Saints biggest problem is DA. PC is horrible, but if we had a different head coach, he would have found a way to remedy our OC issue. And Loomis was ultimately the reason we kept DA, right?
I just read the breakdown of today's game.
There is no reason we should have lost this game.
I will continue to hope for a playoff spot this season. But more out of liking to work the numbers than believing the Saints will do anything in the playoffs.
The thing is -- and I think we all know this and are extremely frustrated because of it -- the Saints have the talent. We are, on paper, a good team. But the major problem is that the guys who are responsible for putting together a good team are not handling the paperwork necessary to put good team members on the sidelines.
I am having trouble hoping the Saints get it together and begin showing how good they are on the field and not only on paper.
And currently the Saints are a toss-up in controlling their own destiny.
If we win out and the Bucs win all of their remaining games except the one against us, the Bucs and the Saints will end the season at 14 -- 3 ; tied at both head-to-head and in the division. What is the 4th tiebreaker?

Allen isn’t the HC… PC isn’t the OC, Carr isn’t the QB… and the OL will get worse before it’s gets better.
Ramcyzk might be done, he’s been getting worse every game since early last season. Ruiz might be decent at best… McCoy is the only keeper worthy piece!
Hurst is a journeyman… and Penning might be a complete BUST!

Kamara won’t be a Saint next season. Neither will Michael Thomas.
Olave might force his way out… he seems like that type of kid.

Then what do they have??? A broke down and aging Derek Carr and Shaheed (biding his time until he can leave for a team that uses him correctly!!)

That’s the worst case scenario…. But again possible. I was for a complete tear down before they hired Allen…. And wanted us to drafted a QB…. FWIW. And damn near everyone here called me a squirrel.

I wanted to hire Doug Peterson.

I can agree with DA not being the HC and Pete being the OC, but saying that the Saints will cut Kamera, Thomas, and Olave is too far.

Ben Johnson would literally be the best move for us. Dude has that old school Sean Payton mindset when it comes to offense.

Anywhere between 9-8 to 7-10 I could see taking the division. The division is awash in mediocrity, underachievers, and inexperienced players.
So the Saints win a terrible division… then get embarrassed at home by the Cowboys in the playoffs…

…Loomis sticks with DA for another year…
The rest of the NFCS continues to improve… Saints tread water with DA after winning a terrible division.

In the end.. that’s a huge loss for the Saints. That equals Saints in the NFCS basement for at least a few seasons until DA is FINALLY axed!

Well… you (and me) were on the right page.

I wanted Pederson as well…. And I did not think Carr was the answer.

Now we get to have this turd sandwich served up to us every week until something changes.
