Saints All Saints RBs OUT Sunday due to close contact (MERGED) (2 Viewers)

The Ravens game was a national game.
The Saints/Broncos game was already the C game on CBS BEFORE Denver had their QBs removed.
The networks are gonna want a full Saints team. If they ask for the Saints on Sunday, the network will get it.

The flipside of that is if there's any uncertainty about the Saints being full go for the Sunday game the networks may decide not to risk it. If the Saints end up only being down Kamara and win in the wildcard then they'll be seen as one of the favorites for the NFCCG and the networks can make their money back in the divisional and championship rounds.

I betcha right now there is executives at FOX or NBC asking the League to put the Saints on Sunday for promotion. He’s a draw and the networks want that.

I would say so. But it will hinge on what the matchups will look like. If the Saints get the Bears or Rams, i think they'll get a Sunday game. If the Saints play the Cards, then that would probably be a Saturday game. All things being equal though, I think any potential matchup without Kamara would be a bad deal for the networks and they will most likely request the Saints play on Sunday regardless.

We'll see.

I'm guessing you mean Kamara but that's kinda my point. There's no certainty about him being able to play that Sunday and it's possible the Saints will be without several more players if more positive tests start popping up. I could easily see the networks deciding not to risk a Sunday slot on a wildcard team that could be without several starters and might get eliminated because they lost too much depth. Right now it looks like all of our RBs and possibly all of our secondary is potentially at risk.

If the Saints pull a win out of that hypothetical then the networks can make up for it by having them in the Sunday slot for the divisional round, likely at full strength and it's a fair bet they'll get a Saints/Packers NFCCG to really bring in the ratings.

Respectfully disagree. The Bucs have Devin White and Shaq Barrett on the COVID list. They know the NFL will want a healthy Bucs team on the field. They'll give the Bucs the Sunday game and saddle the Saints with the Saturday game; thus allowing time for White and Barrett to play and Kamara gets left out and declared ineligible.

Very sad.

It's not sad until it's a done deal. We'll find out soon enough.

Fwiw, Saints vs Rams/Bears will get the nod over Bucs vs WFT (or other NFC least) every single time.

We just have to pray we can lock up at worst the 2 seed and that the WFT wins the East. A WFT vs Bucs matchup has Saturday all over it. If the Cowboys somehow win the East - a Boys Vs Brady-Bucs is too enticing for a Sunday primetime slot for ratings.

Maybe, but with the Iggles already out of contention and sitting their key players, odds are WFT will get in. But yeah, they still gotta go out and get it.
