Saints All Saints RBs OUT Sunday due to close contact (MERGED) (1 Viewer)

We know Ty Montgomery.

Here is Tony Jones Jr. Practice Squad RB who should get some carries tomorrow.

Jones was an excellent football and baseball player at famed IMG Academy in Florida, earning top 250 recruiting marks. After redshirting his first year in South Bend, he contributed in 12 games as a power back in 2016 (44-232-5.3, three TDs, one start). Jones carried a heavier load as a sophomore, starting three of 13 games played (83-392-4.7, three TDs rushing; 6-157-26.2, one TD receiving). He finally became the team's top dog in 2019, leading the Irish with 857 yards and six scores on 144 carries (6.0 per). He also caught a career-high 15 passes for 104 yards (6.9) and a touchdown. Jones did not fumble on 298 career touches.

The close contact guys can play in the WC round if they don't have positive tests, I think. The Broncos got their QBs back after playing us b/c the rest of 'em never tested positive. If Latavius & co. test positive, THEN it's really bad news.

We should beat the resting Panthers with a combination of Ty and Taysom. But that will not cut it in the playoffs. We need the bye or at least a Sunday wildcard game.

NFL and NFLPA very pleased with the protocols in place.

I mean, the protocols aren't the problem here (if those pictures are, indeed, accurate).

We are the only team heading into this weekend without an entire position group. The other 31 teams don't have a problem at this point (and yes, I realize others have along the way).

People are blowing this way out of proportion. The Panthers are beatable with just Taysom at RB at this point, and correct me if I'm wrong, but if Murray/Washington/etc. test negative post-Carolina they'll be able to come back for the first WC game, right?

I'm not shaking with fear playing any of the wild card teams without Kamara, either. It sucks and you'd rather not have it to begin with, but the Saints will be fine for 1 or 2 games.
