Amateur Home Video Captures Tilikum Killing Trainer Dawn Brancheau (1 Viewer)

it's like when Chris Rock said of the white tiger that attacked Seigfried (or Roy?):

"That tiger didn't go crazy-- that tiger went TIGER!!"

...of course now that has a whole new meaning...

I really see the fault in the other trainers. I can absolutely believe they were not prepared for an incident like that, but man they looked shell shocked.

What's said is that they did NOTHING apparently to help her. No bait in the water, no toys to distract the whale, no ropes or poles to help pull the girl out the water. nothing.

Maybe it was just me, but i never saw the attack. I just saw a lot of swimming back and forth with the KW. Not until the end when i saw the other trainers looking on, did i even realize the attack had already occurred.

Surely i can't be the only person who had the same initial reaction to the video.

It sure does!!!! Who would have thought Tiger could give tigers a bad name??

At the 1:10 mark it looks like she extended her arm to attempt to fight the whale off. I don't know how she wouldn't have the strength to do that after being flung around like a rag doll for a whole minute.

I can see how people said he was just "playing"...he even flips over on his back for a swim at the end.

I'm shocked that none of them did anything. Shouldn't they have a harpoon gun or something if something like this happened, at least throw some fishes to distract him. What would of happened if this was some rando who just fell into the tank?
You can't blame the whale. Its a wild animal. This is what happens when wild animals are locked up where they don't belong.
This. People always go crazy when a person dies at zoos but I don't see how swimming with whales, having a magic show with tigers or forcing huge wild animals into an field is really any different then playing around with a loaded gun.

I thought the same thing. Initially I thought someone was just swimming with the KW but then I realized after I saw the trainer was getting dragged around.

What's interesting is that the whale never uses it's mouth to try and "eat" or "attack" her, like it would do if it were attacking a seal. He definitely appears to be playing.

It seemed very similar to the way killer whales play with seals that they don't intend to eat.
