Same here. It's simply incredible. I will never get tired of watching this video. I wish there were more (at least blind trying it like Chad)

Yeah I looked too. Chad was the only one to do it that way. It's funny, some haters out there were trying to say it was fake, but that quickly got quashed because they didnt watch the full video to see where one of his sticks broke while playing and he grabbed another on the base drum and during that moment you hear the snare go quiet.

Im really suprised that this hasnt made it here yet.

NSFW Language.

I did post two videos of the same session with Chad on page 6.

Chad has had the luxury to play with one of the best bassist and one of the best guitarist of all time. Anthony isn't the best singer, but he does good. (Much better than Dave Grohl in my opinion.)

You also have to consider that Chad Smith is in his 60's and rock music is his genre, that he plays in. I don't think the song was out of his basket of tricks, especially considering he plays with Flea!!! Chad is great drummer, no doubt about it, but it wasn't much of a challenge.

He should of got a complex jazz song, or a death metal song to make it fair. They were easy with him considering Chad's skill level. That's just my take though.

I was fortunate enough to take drum lessons from one for the best teachers in the city when I was in high school and college, Ray Fransen. There was a surprise celebration for the 40th anniversary of his drum shop in Kenner at South Port Hall. These are all drummers that had a relationship with Ray, whether it was as a student or business association. There's a few notable drummers that attended, Guy Gelso from Zebra, Stanton Moore from Galatic, and Johnny Vidacovich, famous NO drummer who plays with Astral Project. I'm the fourth guy from the left, Ray is in the middle.

:spit:

We use to call it the rudiment racoon.

I'll never forget, Ray got a new one between my scheduled sessions, and it was out of control. I kept looking at it and Ray kept asking, "what are you looking at"? I just kept putting my head down and saying "nothing"...

When I first heard about this kid, it was about an xmas commercial that she did, she's done drum battles vs Dave Grohl, countless covers, and now this... She's 13...

Patty Schemel

I think sometimes it's hard for my ear not to hear that chopping wood beat on the snare drum in punk rock/alternative. Patty did a nice job in putting grooves in her beats, instead of just metrodome drumming, which could of made the song boring. Her drums gave the song a huge lift.
