Alright, who was the drummer for Nirvana?
There seems to be 3 main drummers of Nirvana, and a handful of fill in drummers.
0. Aaron Burckhard, Dave Foster, and Dan Peters : Fill in drummers in the early years. With the Lights Out/Demo Stuff
1. Dale Crover : Fecal Matter/Nirvana. I.W.P., Bleach, Incesticide, and With the Lights Out.
2. Chad Channing : Mid Nirvana. Bleach, Nevermind, Muddy Banks, and With the Lights Out.
3. Dave Grohl : Nirvana's most lasting drummer. Nevermind and In Utereo
Safe to say, all three main Nirvana drummers are world class.
Dale Crover basically helped launch Kurt Cobain's start up band, Fecal Matter. He was more known for his work with The Melvins
It seems Chad didn't get the credit he deserved, it turns out he wrote most of the drum tracks for Nevermind, with even some of Chad's drumming on Nevermind. Nirvana's Nevermind drumming really needs to be credited with Chad Channing, although Dave might of created the drum track for Smells Like Teen Spirit?!?!
Dave Grohl was basically a studio drummer for Nirvana. Kurt wanted him, because his timing was better, than jazzy Chad. In Utereo is really all Dave Grohl, but In Utero sounds entirely different, than early sludgy beginnings of the band.
