Wonder if we low balled him?

According to the Saints, they never officially made him an offer. The timing of the whole thing makes me think his agent planted the story that we were aggressively pursuing him to maybe drive up the price with Detroit.

No loss to us. Snead is our mini-Boldin, he will blow up this year as coverage is rolled toward Fleener and Cooks.

It's not a huge loss or anything, but I was really liking the idea of having Boldin for a year to mentor our incredibly young wide receiver class. Ah well

I still think our WR core could use a vet presence.

Isn't Vincent Brown this year's "vet brought into camp to ultimately be cut when the roster is shaved to 53?" Hell, I hope he balls out and makes the team though.

I mean, I know he's only 27, but that is the most veteran receiver we've got by far.

No doubt it would be a gamble to stick with Cooks, Thomas, Snead, and Coleman as the WR corps, but the potential is tremendous and could be long lasting. Colston, Moore, Meachem, and Henderson were a rather young group at one point, and that turned out pretty well.
