Anquan Boldin signing with Lions (1 Viewer)

According to the Saints, they never officially made him an offer. The timing of the whole thing makes me think his agent planted the story that we were aggressively pursuing him to maybe drive up the price with Detroit.
that's how they do it !! SMH...

Good! They can have him.

I think we could have really used Boldin this year. I'm not as convinced as some others that our WR corp is set. There is no way we keep just 4 and with Vincent Brown now on IR (he had a really good chance of making the team based on early impressions of him) we are arguably thin at WR in terms of depth. I do think we need a vet and Boldin would have been perfect.

Based on early reports of Coleman, he didn't look impressive at all during OTAs. If Boldin had signed, Coleman would have been pushed down the depth chart. I prefer Coleman in a more limited role, not an expanded role. Coleman has surpassed expectations in this league...his ceiling is not very high. I'd prefer a vet at this point or a receiver with more promise than Coleman at #4.

Oh well. Did he know about the wallpaper at the Greenbrier? That could have been the deciding factor for him. :mwink:

I don't know why we were chasing after him in the first place. We are loaded at the WR position ....

I still say they can have him. I'd rather we re-sign Meachem.
