Anquan Boldin signing with Lions (2 Viewers)

According to the Saints, they never officially made him an offer. The timing of the whole thing makes me think his agent planted the story that we were aggressively pursuing him to maybe drive up the price with Detroit.

Agents plant stories all the time. As with Gresham last season, it appears he's going for the money. Gresham wound up being a non-factor for a decent team whose QB was injured at the wrong time of year. Let's see what Boldin does with Stafford.

Let's just hope that if we were interested in him he doesn't come into our house this year and cause us some problems. I'll be at the game and I won't be happy if we lose.

Yes, my ticket arrived at my house yesterday!!

No doubt it would be a gamble to stick with Cooks, Thomas, Snead, and Coleman as the WR corps, but the potential is tremendous and could be long lasting. Colston, Moore, Meachem, and Henderson were a rather young group at one point, and that turned out pretty well.

Obviously you don't think Vincent will make the team.

Isn't Vincent Brown this year's "vet brought into camp to ultimately be cut when the roster is shaved to 53?" Hell, I hope he balls out and makes the team though.

I mean, I know he's only 27, but that is the most veteran receiver we've got by far.

Wasn't Brown one of the four on the PUP list that just came out?!?

edit: Yes, he's the fourth man listed on the PUP. Forum research.... who knew??

I still think our WR core could use a vet presence.

Brees probably has more influence on the offensive players than any leader or offensive coach. A leader like Boldin would take a back seat to Brees.

Yeah. But they put those guys on the list before camp so they can rest their respective injuries rather than get hurt and put on the list at that point, where they'd have to stay on the list for a determined length of time.

From what I heard on the radio earlier, Kikaha is the only one on the list who's actually "injured". Two are still coming back from surgeries and Brown has some minor injury that shouldn't sideline him for long.

Ian Rappaport - "I have deep inside sources telling me that Anquan Bolden is definitely probably joining the Jaguars. Saints...uh...Rai...Lions! Yes...Lions. Like I said. My source tells me Bolden is joining the Lions."

Meanwhile in Detroit.

According to rotoworld, Vincent Brown is being released with an injury settlement.. Those who are avid vet-beggars, the best available option currently is Andre Johnson, or a much sweeter add - - Roddy White.

Pass I would rather roll with what we have. And in no reality is Roddy White a sweeter add

Congratulations! Now just don't forget to pack it. :hihi:

Every game, I literally dread over forgetting to grab the tickets before leaving (or grabbing the wrong game tickets). It's to the point now where I tell my friend to verify I have both tickets and the right tickets for that game. And I only live an hour and a half away from the Superdome, not halfway around the world. :)
