If Saints had to lose 1 game of the next 3 games,

Take a home loss to 49ers?, but take a win on the road vs. SeaHags?

Win both SeaHags and 49ers games, but lose (yikes) to Panthers and Falcons?

Look for this Sundays game v 49ers as Hartleys last game with Saints for sure, if he misses just one kick....

Obviously, win all, but if they "had" to lose 1 game, choose 49ers at home, but prove NFL you can go on the road, hostile environment and blow out SeaHags!

I'll just answer the original question posed:

Offense: No (at least not yet)
Defense: Yes
Special Teams: No
Coaching: Yes

Regardless how many more Lombardis our boys get in the future, 2011 will always be the one that got away.

I think the defensive line and the secondary are both better in 2013 vs 2011. Offensive line was better in 2011 (although they played really well Sunday night). Not sure if I can pick which is a better team. Interesting question though considering we may have to go to Seattle in the playoffs (I think this is the only team that may have a better chance at the # 1 seed in the playoffs than us.)

You are absolutely right about this.

I'm greedy, I want to win ALL the rest of our games. The losses to the Pats and Jets seemed to hurt more than usual.

I agree. 2011 will always be the one that got away. Win the game against the 49ers and we have a home playoff game against the Giants who we mauled earlier in the regular season. We were just unmatched at home and in a dome.

That being said, our defense is better. We have younger and faster players than 2011 on defense. If our offensive line can build from the Cowboys game, then this team will be something special. Still a long way to go this season.

Basically agree with seems to be consensus,
Offense was a little better on 2011, but Defense is a lot better and very sound fundamentally in 2013 as opposed to 2011 that was still completely dependent on scheme to manufacture pressure and turnovers of which very few TO were being produced.

I think Special Teams was close to a wash in punt and kickoffs.

I don't think so. I know it sounds blashpemous, but I think the 2011 Saints team may have very well been the best Saints team of all-time. Sucks that in that particular year, 13-3 wasn't good enough for HFA.
