Are the 2013 7-2 Saints Better than 2011 Saints Playoff Team vs. 49ers? (1 Viewer)

Not a yes or no question.

You could make the case that the 2011 Saints were the best offensive team to ever take a football field. Basically, other than TE play, everything about the 2011 Saints offense is better than the 2013 Saints offense.

Defensively, I think we all know the answer to this. If we had this defense in 2011, we'd have two Super Bowl rings. I'm about 99% confident that this would be the case.

I'll put it like this: if our offensive line builds off the Dallas game, then the answer to this question will be yes in a few weeks. That's the ONLY thing holding this team back from complete dominance of the entire NFL.

TE play was even better. Jimmy gonna have to deal with this injury all year, but we didnt have a threat like watson.

Not sure if I can pick which is a better team. Interesting question though considering we may have to go to Seattle in the playoffs (I think this is the only team that may have a better chance at the # 1 seed in the playoffs than us.)

I can. The 2011 team right now. It's not even close. The way they ran the table with a ton a blow-outs in the 2nd half of the season tells the character and quality of that team.

In reality, it's too early to tell. If the 2013 Saints come close to running the table, then it's fair to compare to 2011.
