Are we really that far off from the top…. (2 Viewers)

We actually are pretty far from the top. We can be a good team but we have to address several positions and the chances of doing that with rookies is unlikely. Example: offense we need a WR1, LG1, and TE1. That’s three starters that we need to hit on. FA will be difficult to address because of the cap. If we nail the draft and get starters at all three, we can be a good offense. But then we need to address the defense. Too much to address in a single off season. It’s a rebuild.

if we don't have better injury luck, we'll have zero shot to be overly competitive. if we can stay healthier with good coaching and better team comradery then we have the possibility to be competitive every weekend and see where the cards fall. But we do have some recovery years to continue through because we sacrificed so much and also got burned on bums that fell off the earth.
I'm sure comradery will totally have our O Line blocking and stop our receivers from dropping passes.

Let's see what moves we make... Really curious on what we do with Olave. Then, I would assume Carr makes a trade demand sometime soon.

If we move them. You can bet on this team just being in 3 win territory.

do you want to go in depth about the OL injuries and WR injuries and absentees we've had over past 2 seasons or just say generic amateur comments? question is rhetorical. I'm a big fan of rhetoric.

For those saying we are not desirable. Aging players. Lack of talent. Meddling GM….all the things I keep reading on here.

It’s like if you post it enough, everyone believes it as it continues to pound them over the head.

But…….am I’m sure many will shoot this down…..but……

We played 3 of the Championship week teams. Went 0-3. But….lets look closer.

Eagles: Short of a leak out to Dallas Goebert for about 60 yards, we win that game.

Chiefs: A inexcusable missed PI (not missed, just not called), we are right there ready to tie/take lead late in the game.

Redskins: We are a 2pt conversion from our 5th round rookie QB from winning.

And that’s the best the league has to offer.

Bottom line, we aren’t THAT FAR OFF from the top.

Getting a new coach, a leader, AND NOT SUFFERING CRUSHING INJURIES …..and we absolutely can get back in a season.

We were a play or two away from the best the league has just a few months ago

I know, you are what your record says you are…..but when you really look, it’s not as far a gap as people like to say.
I feel ya on the missed opportunities. Many of us lifelong fans could fill the pages of a really thick book of missed opportunities each year going back to 1967! The Eagles and Commanders played each other for the NFC title, and the Saints were there outplaying both of those teams for about 110 of the 120 minutes of those games against them this year.

But as Mora once said, "Coulda, woulda, shoulda" just "ain't good enough." And so here we are on the edge of a new day on offense, surely, and possibly on defense, too.

I agree. Hit the draft correctly and with a good coaching staff, the NFC South is there for our taking.

Sticky this for when you’re proven right next season!

If we can cut down on these injuries or can figure out the root cause, this team could win the South.
In regards being back to 2017-2020 levels? That may take another 2-3 years.

Best thing about the NFL, it's easier to go from last to first, than other sports. Need a solid draft, if we wanna be in that number.

The only thing we can really talk about are realistic hypotheticals. Loomis isn't going anywhere and his guys are his guys. There are people in the building that have drafted good players, it's just been a while and I believe they were drafting for fit for a coach that couldn't coach to a players strengths. Which left us reaching and without a lot of picks. With a new coach and a fresh start, we have to believe that Loomis and his team will change with it to some degree.
We can hope.
