Are you happy with the three wins (3-1) and lower draft position? (3 Viewers)

Higher draft pick does not guarantee draft success; just makes it more fun.

I’m rooting for us to win because I want Rizzi to prove he can do the job. Also, as a guy that wants Jeanty, I’m satisfied with us falling in the 8 to 12 range.

If we pick too high, we will probably do something dumb TBH. 😂

We need to find a new HC first and holding Rizzi back in any way would be counter-productive. They aren't pretty, but he is showing that he can lead the team to wins. The entire team and staff are on interview. How they play, lead and coach in this state will be a big part of determining their opportunities in the off season.

I want to the players to play like they want to win and watch an entertaining game…. But lose the game anyway at this point for a better draft pick…. So I don’t get anything I want.

Win, if you can/do make the playoffs.

We won’t be doing that so I’d rather we have lost out. Lose the battle, make plenty of good picks, come back and win the war.

We have to make the right picks tho…that’s the key. Having a top 5 would have helped in the chances of grabbing a difference maker, generational etc.

The draft, even in the top 10, is a crap shoot. We could still win the division. If the chips fall so that we end up with a top 5 pick, so be it. I’m always cheering for a win today over a player tomorrow. We could get a great pick, only for the player to blow out a knee in his first training camp and never be the same.

Win every game that you can.

I just don't like the feeling of losing. Tanking or losing just to get a higher draft picks doesn't always work out. In fact you can look at most struggling teams that had pick top 10 for many years and struggles to have a winning record still.
When you loose and loose more, you loose more than you gain in the draft by going a few spots higher. You loose the locker room and most importantly ….. you already have built in resentment for whoever gets picked by the remaining players. Hypothetically, say inside that locker room it’s known this season is player x’s last season your out there giving everything you got to help player X get a proper send off and then a directive comes down from on high loose every game we want a higher pick. Tons of starters get benched who knows maybe player X is sat as well. Instead the send off is a 3-14 season of horror. Then in comes this young man who if he struggles at first the question has to come to mind, was it worth it? Also how does a coach ask the same players to give their all on every play?

Loosing has a cost and the cost is much more than the draft pick most of the time.

I always want us to play to win. We miss on so many draft picks anyway I don’t worry about where we pick.

I watch football to be entertained. Losing isn’t entertaining and I don’t have any control over what the team does to get better or not. I enjoy it when the Saints win.

I’ve seen a lot of teams in my lifetime that were perennial losers. Saints used to be one of those teams. Top 5 picks don’t come with guarantees of success.

There isn’t only one pathway to improvement.
I 100% disagree with this narrative. It's over and you would have to be blind to not see we are not going to the playoffs and even if we did we would have no shot at a Super Bowl. So, you plan for the future. Come draft day everyone on this board will wish we were 1 pick ahead of what we will have. Why not assure yourself of the best possible pick.

I guess it was OK, just lose the rest going forward.
My guess is that we're probably going to lose 3 (at least) of the last 4 games (based on our current injury status and remaining schedule) and that will move us a few spots earlier in the draft. But great drafts mean a whole lot more than who ends up being our first selection. Hopefully our scouting evaluation will allow us to find those 'diamond in the rough' starters that often come in the later rounds.

I would love to see the Saints win the remaining games this year. But what our record is at the end of these last four games isn't nearly as important as who will be coaching our team (including this new crop of players) for 2025 and beyond. We must find the right miracle worker to get this bandwagon back on track. Mediocrity just isn't sitting well with this fanbase.
