Purdy isn't going anywhere. He executes Shanahan's system too well for them to let him go.

I know. I wish we had an OC that could put his system and his ego aside and just straight up copy what they do. It's so creative and fun to watch. You never know what is about to happen. Even with SP, Saints fans knew what was about to happen most of the time. With Brees it was executed so well that it didn't matter most of the time. Unless we were playing a great defense.

People must remember that it’s the SF defense that’s the star of that team. Their offense complements the defense. As long as Shanahan dies ask Purdy to do too much, he will be ok. As for Lance, he’s really still a rookie, just like Purdy. But hasn’t his season been cut short for two straight seasons due to injuries?

What kind of madman creates an offense around his players' strengths and then picks players to complement those things? Sounds like insanity to me.

He is for now because defenses are swing him for the first time, and Shanahan knows that. Notice that Frisco is actually a run first, play action pass team. He does run the system the way he’s ask. But next year, as teams design defenses to stop the run and force him to beat them through the air, will he be able to do that?

Sure he has. Dude throws an ugly ball most of his passes come out wobbly with seemingly average to below average velocity. That dude is a Purdy superbowl away from a position change or a new team.

I don't think he was named starter last year.
