Jimmy G is out from SanFran and the Purdy era is in. Lance will compete with Purdy in the preseason and if he doesn't win back the starting job, he'll backup Purdy and then be traded after 2023.

I have no clue. What I think is they don’t go next season with to youngsters, and as they advance the logical choice will be Purdy over Lance.

Purdy is not going to beat out Trey, too much of an average talent....

Doubt they look to get rid of Lance until after training camp. They spent 3 first rounders on him, so they obviously saw something they liked. And Purdy just happened to step in and take over perhaps the most talented team in the NFL. While he’s done very well, SF would be wise to make sure he’s not just a flash in the pan.

It's a very interesting situation. Trey - like Jordan Love in Green Bay - is pretty expensive to sit on the bench. My bet is they keep him there for a bit, just like the Pack.
