I'm wondering if the plan is to go DB-heavy more often than not.
4 down linemen, Lattimore and Adebo on the outside, Maye and Matthieu @ safties, Ceedy, Davis, and PJ Williams/other LB (Baun?) round it out.
This combination could stop the run, I think, as well as be effective against the pass.

Just wondering if 4-2-5 will be the base

I think it will and kind of already is since 11 personnel is probably played more than any other personnel group in the NFL now. And I think you can do it because with CJGJ at Slot and Maye/Mathieu at Safety you can still stop the run in a 4-2-5 with Davis and Werner at LB. As you alluded to, it's probably why Know is not a big priority. He really fits better as a WIL in a 4-3 defense when he can stay clean and has room to run in space. Werner is better if your LBs aren't always clean. So, Kwon would be a luxury for certain looks. I think they would like to have him back, but it's going to have to be at the price of a guy who plays a role, not a full time starter.

I like Kwon as well but its a numbers game. We would likely have to cut someone or risk a rookie if we signed him.

For me signing or not signing Kwon will be about money. I do believe the Saints brass would love to have him on the roster for all of the reasons stated, but not for full time starter money. Now that the draft is over and any signing does not impact comp picks, I would guess that in about a week or so we will know if he decides on the Jets or some other team OR comes back to the Saints - hope he comes back at a reasonable salary as you cannot have enough good players.

Wondering if drafting Jackson was for depth if Werner steps into Kwon's role.

I mean Davis and Werner are going to be the starting LBs in the 4-2-5 and Ellis will play when they play 4-3-4. Jackson is a 5th round pick. Hopefully he works out as depth at MLB or WIL. We could use it if Kwon leaves.
