ATL radio: possible Falcons/Browns trade - Quinn for DeAngelo (2 Viewers)

Were the reporters saying they thought this trade was in the works or were they just brainstorming for ideas?

How bad of a cap hit would the Browns take?

Nothing on the browns board on this so far

I don't think the Browns take a cap hit. If they do trade Quinn away then ATL assumes Quinn's salary. The only cap hit I could imagine is the signing bonus, maybe CLE would get stuck with that.

Quinn to the Falcons for Hall, two myoplexes, and a subway meatball sub

The Browns would be taking the cap hit on the remaining bonus money from Quinn's contract.

Likewise, whatever bonus Hall had, Atlanta would take that hit.

This is Hall's last year on his contract, so his hit won't change due to a trade. Quinn's contract is 5-year, $9.25 million with $7.75 million in guaranteed money. He can make an extra $11 million by either A) having 55% of the total snaps in each of his first 2 years ( can't happen), or B) having 70% in his 3rd year (can happen and most likely will if traded to ATL). He also has an extra $9.8 million in "not likely to be earned" incentives. He made $370,000 + $4.3 million roster bonus last year and will earn $655,000 this year. It looks like CLE could trade him without a big hit, but I'm not sure how all the escalators and "not likely to be earned" incentives count with a trade.

I think it's more likely they trade Anderson, though I doubt they could trade for Hall without giving up a mid-tier pick also.

That would be a no-brainer for the Falcons.

Ya know I was just thinking about this after reading the title.. It's just gotta make you sick if your a 1st round QB and you know your the future of the ballclub that drafted you, & all you end up doing is playin' ride the pine.. I bleed Black-n-Gold and have absolutely zero love for ATL (in fact, if they're not B-n-G then I reeeeeeeally can't stand'm, that goes for the other 30 as well!!), but if Brady Quinn can get out and about and get the chance then him and his agent would be idiots to leave him still.. This situation has the Favre/Rodgers situation written all over it. Rodgers, a young man, good qb, strong arm, drafted by G.B., 1st round, the heir apparent to #4, ridin' that pine!!!!!.. He's just gotta be sick by now, what's he goin' into now ?? his 3rd or 4th year ??.. Yeah I know the deal with Favre, but ya just gotta feel for a guy like Rodgers who was/is ready to go!! He's just gotta be in dis-belief every time Favre starts talkin' "retirement", yeah I know he said somethin' about it today, but here it is 3 or 4 years down the road already for Mr."it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood" Rodgers. So back to Quinn, ATL needs a QB, CLE needs a secondary, they need to work it out and do it.. In the least just so I can get my kicks watching Vilma wack that guy to the ground a couple times a year, and really, who isn't sick of listening to mr. self-proclamation that he's the best DB in the league ?? Pipe down already!! He's ALMOST as annoying as watching Deion on the NFL network.. LoL.. alright then, i've stated my 02.. here's to a speedy recovery for our man Vilma.. here that Quinn ????

NWSaint.

I find it hard too believe that Cleveland would trade Quinn or Anderson so soon.... Anderson only has 1 good season on his resume..... I pretty sure they will be smart enough too wait atleast 1 more season before they put all there eggs in Anderson's basket.....

If so, it would have too be a huge deal for cleveland.... Atlanta's 1st rd and DeAngelo Hall for Quinn straight up?? I think there would have too be another draft pick in there for Cleveland, too jump and make a deal.
