It's a modern day Beverly Hillbillies, reality-show style. This family bought their 80 acres of North Louisiana property in 1997 for $160,000. Recently, a huge natural gas deposit was discovered beneath the land, that is now netting them $12,000/month and is expected to generate about $58 million for the family.

Let the party begin! Premiere is Saturday night, 8pm central and again at 9:30.

Lots of stories like that here. I actually transferred from the Midwest to manage the safety on our gathering system for all this gas. We are currently transporting and processng 1.2 billion cubic feet of gas a day. We originally contracted for 1.6 bcf/day. Lots of gas here. And we left plenty of real estate to increase out gas treating capacity.

So $144,000 a year between 4 households on one piece of property? That hardly seems like "billionaire" status.. did they get a large initial lump sum?

Nice teef

These shows are killing us.

I almost wish that tax credit would disappear so they'd stop making shows about ridiculous morans in Louisiana.

Or perhaps someone could make a show that doesn't make Louisiana residents look like something you scrape off the bottom of your shoe at walmart.

Then again, who cares. Nevermind.

So you wouldn't be looking forward to, "Keeping up with the Guist Brothers"?

I can understand needing to be on tv to make a living. But why would anyone give up their privacy if they've already got money.

I bet being a rich redneck is a blast though. If I was forced to watch these people or the kardashians I'd pick the rednecks.
