Oh I’d much rather have Payton lol. Still sad he’s gone.Payton is better on TV, though.
Just funny to me anyone would say “settle” when talking about Mike.

I can't possibly imagine a better staff of what's available. DA is a top 5 DC, Rizzi one of the best ST coaches, Ben Johnson a top 5 oc/play callerThis will be a disaster.
It would be no more a blunder than say Aaron Glenn going to the Jets and not working out.
The extra money has no bearing on how much of a blunder it would be. The Bears are valued at over $6 billion and are one of the most profitable franchises in the league, it’s pocket money. The outcome from paying Ben Johnson $8m vs $13m is ultimately going to be the same.
Yeah like that foundational piece that SP insisted on Marcus Davenport. And what about those cornerstones of D Stephone Anthony and Hau'oli KakahaUntil I see DA do anything without the foundation of the very detail-oriented SP regime’s backdrop, I’m calling him a fraud.
I don’t view him as some revered DC. He got to us at the exact right time, with our star studded defense and brand new shutdown corner, and reaped the benefits.
I’m just not buying that he’s some defensive savant based on his “maybe slightly above average at times” level of success under Sean.
Hence the second paragraph in my post...Even if we take it at face value that DA’s defense can’t stop mobile QB’s with the right players, winning the NFC North is what comes first. The Lions, Vikings, and Packers all have pocket passers, so a DC that excels at shutting them down would be the right choice.
This absurd notion that anyone can know the ceiling of a HC that has already won a SB and has been under the thumb of the most meddling owner in the league is mindboggling. SMHHe’ll bring stability to the organization. He’s not an inspiring hire as we know his ceiling. He’s no Sean Payton or Andy Reid when it comes to offensive creativity, so I can’t see him winning a playoff game with Carr. But the Saints will be back to possibly being an 8 to 10 win team.
How is the 27th ranked defense stacked??The Bears get their guy a year later than they should have and DA walks into a pre-made stacked defense.
Any coach that apologizes to the Falcons doesn't get a "revenge" shot no matter if he wins the game or not. "Revenge" shots are for people who own it not folding, wet blankets.Well, we play at Chicago next season, so DA gets a "revenge" shot at his previous team.
Throw it up deep late and get a PI call!Well, we play at Chicago next season, so DA gets a "revenge" shot at his previous team.

95% of this board wanted him to be the head coach like six weeks ago and only dropped the position when he wouldn’t interview hereI’m sure that this is a contrarian view, but I don’t think Ben Johnson will be a good head coach. The Lions have always been my second team, and I’ve watched all their games over the last few years. They live and die with Dan Campbell…he’s the main driver and motivator in that organization. Ben Johnson reminds me a lot of DA…you don’t see him leading and motivating on the sidelines. He seems quite detached from the players. He may be a great offensive innovator, but without a Dan Campbell around, I’m doubting his abilities to lead a team. Pair him with DA and it seems like you’ve got two betas at the top of the organization.
Not me. I was doing things with models.Sean has a revenge game.
Parcells has a revenge game.
DA doesn’t get a revenge game. The fanbase was popping bottles the day he got fired.
