Bears new QB is pretty good (1 Viewer)

Bagent’s very similar to Taylor Heinicke as a QB and their journeys to the league.

Fields was progressing well before injury. He had back to back efficient 300 yard passing games. He won’t reach his potential until he’s in a better offense on another team.

Bears will probably draft a QB in the top 3 under the new FO.

I know Bagent lost. I know he made turnovers. But I think this kid is better than the Bears injured 1st rounder.

I see a bright future for this kid.
Eh, lotta turnovers and one of the TD passes he threw was a bad decision (a floater across his body) that Kmet bailed him out of. Most of the other receivers he hit were wide open. He scrambled for some first downs but he's not an elite runner by any stretch. I'm not sure Fields will be great either, but they're not sticking with a guy who has 3 TDs to 6 INTs so far. Those aren't numbers that allow you to leapfrog over a starter.

It seems like a lot of folks missed the last 2 full games that Fields played.

He has like the exact same numbers as the guy he replaced via injury. Like nearly identical.
Same numbers how? Yall get on here and say anything..lol. Fields threw more touchdowns in his last full game than Bagent has the 3 1/2 since the injury.

Not saying Fields is a world beater right now but trying to say that Bagent is better is some Stretch Armstrong stuff, especially when how fields started to turn things around before the injury.

Really mobile, elusive runner, but does not see the whole field well.

He has potential, but needs a fair amount of work.

Fields losing to the Broncos being looked at as a positive still baffles me to this day

So it wasn't the 335 yards and 4TDs on 80% passing? LOL.
Yet, we are hyping up Bagent's going 1-3 throwing for 3TD and 6INTs in those games, for whatever reason. Not saying that he doesn't have a future but I'm rubbing my head on this one.

I totally agree. I was saying something similar in the game day thread.

He’s got the tools to be a serviceable QB in the league - much like a Heinicke, Colt McCoy or Jacoby Brissett.

He will get more chances to start along the way and you never know where that will lead.
