Bagent is good for what he is, a rookie 2nd division QB. In no sane world is he better than Justin Fields, that’s just completely absurd. Fields started the season really poorly but he was starting to get it together before the injury.

Yeah you're right. I should not have stated "he's better than Fields". That's an error on my part.Bagent is good for what he is, a rookie 2nd division QB. In no sane world is he better than Justin Fields, that’s just completely absurd. Fields started the season really poorly but he was starting to get it together before the injury.
Exactly what I was thinking.Calm in the pocket, hits his reads on time, knows where the outlet is in the offense. That play where he dodges guys in the backfield and hit his TE who'd leaked in the flats only happens if he has full control of the offense.
Once the defense clamped down on what they were trying to do he came back down to earth, but with some experience he's going to be a keeper, or at the very least Average.
The Bears may have found their Purdy/Brady QB with Zero investment in him. As a Rookie UDFA from a Div2 program playing in only his 2nd start in the NFL you have to be impressed with what he showed. The game isn't to big for him. He's a rookie that made rookie mistakes but he also shined at times. With him and Fields the Bears have 2 young QBs to develop, one they have a big investment in and the other not. They just acquired a top young player in DE Montez Sweat who they got on the cheap as far as giving up draft capital and then they immediately signed him to a big contract. They could get healthy soon with the picks they have in the upcoming draft, especially if they trade down and parlay those picks into multiple early round picks.I was thinking the samething during the game, but didn't want to post and jinx us. They might have found their QB without using the two top 5 picks in the 2024 draft.
